2019-2020 USC Transfer

hi guys i had a quick question is being a TTP applicant and getting a SGR a good thing? Do you think it is more likely that there will be an acceptance due to the TTP status? i know that getting a straight acceptance is best but i was honestly thinking i was going to get a straight rejection but ended up getting an SGR any and all thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated thank yoU!!

People who get SGR usually hear back june/july. Does anybody know when people who get WGR hear back?

Hi! I applied to Annenberg and I have a question about USC’s minimum math requirement:

I took 3 years of math in high school. One year of Alg 1, one year of Geometry, but only one semester of Alg 2 and another semester of business math. Did I meet the minimum math requirement to not have to take a math class in college before transferring?

I’m asking because I’m enrolled in stats right now in college but am needing to possibly drop it or risk getting a D or failing. My USC counselor for my CC said it “should be okay” but he didn’t know for sure. I’m so afraid to drop it if I didn’t satisfy the math requirement!!! But I’m probably gonna fail stats if I don’t drop it so idk what to do

Any possibility we hear decisions on Saturday???

@TheGoldenBoy unlikely imo…

I think you are looking early in the week for Annenberg with sprinkling of a few more Marshall here or there. Looking at past years, Annenberg is due for sure (always the week after the Marshall/Dornsife wave), but also noticed that some random Marshall acceptances come out over the next couple weeks, leading up to the last big acceptance wave (and rejection wave) the week of May 20th. Which I’m sad to say may push to the next week since they are a week behind this year. But hoping they catch up and stay on typical track. Rejection wave has consistently been May 24th for many years or within a day of that.

Hopefully I get my decision before the rejection wave ?

@CADREAMIN Do you know when Price usually releases their decisions?

@CADREAMIN and do you know when Keck would release theirs?

From the past years, they usually make up a very small percentage of admitted students so I am guessing their acceptances come whenever, apparently those accepted made up only 1% of the transfer pop. last year

@CADREAMIN hey so I’m new to the thread I’m a Marshall applicant who’s a junior with 68 credits done and taking 11 for this semester with math 118 business calc in progress I have aced my Econ and accounting courses and I do have a good upward trend from a 2.5 now to a 3.8 from when I started college. Would I be denied since I don’t have the math done? Or could I still be admitted or get a SGR late.I’m new to all this but I am just wondering from other people’s experience. You have a lot of experience by looking st your account so your input would really matter to me what do you think? I also have a backup major in dornslife…

So if you didn’t hear back from Dornsife this week, is it likely a rejection around May 20-24ish?

^^^ is it ? ??

USC has rolling decisions. There’s still a chance you got accepted but weren’t included in the last wave. You’re not rejected until you receive a rejection letter.

@Skillslayer24 You would likely get an SGR and I have seen those still going out in June - which is crazy since they say they let everyone know by May 31, which they actually never do. While the majority know May 31st, as there is also rejection wave in late May (around May 24) along with last big acceptance wave (from May 20th on) across all majors, there are quite a few that don’t hear till June or July.

@CADREAMIN should I just upload my spring grades cause my semester ends in May 24. I hope I have a good chance cause my situation is kinda weird. How many people find out about the rejection wave in may 20th CAD? I feel like they haven’t even looked at my application cause no update with the SGR if I’m in progress with the class and I feel rejection CAD.

@bball87 it’s weird I’m kinda in the same situation as you where I aced my Econ and accounting courses and I have math in progress and you received a SGR and I haven’t. The only difference is that i did start college not the best but I have had couple semesters of a upward trend bringing up my gpa from a really bad gpa. What are your thoughts ball? Cause we are both really similar.

The majority of rejections will go out end of May. Some will be left hanging because of pending SGR and a few will not be rejected and still get an SGR, but that is small amount in the scheme of things. Most people don’t get in, that is how the numbers work. It is easy to see the fit of someone through the application. They know which applications/applicant make a good Trojan fit and which ones don’t, long before the grade of a current or pending class posts. It is so much more than that. Nothing to do but wait.

When does the Marshall wave come out?

Where did u go for college? @CADREAMIN

@myungmaster I think it’s been out. A lot of Marshall and Dornsife decisions have been rolling since last week, I believe.
