2019-2020 USC Transfer

Was admitted into Marshall as a junior transfer today! Does anyone know when I should expect to hear back from financial aid about awards?

And does anyone know how long I have to accept?

About a week for FA, two weeks to respond from acceptance (today).

@ncityusc I think @elessar2 was wondering if any SCA acceptances were given to non-film prod. majors

If not, I’m wondering

@transferme73 Gotcha. I applied for Cinema and Media Studies and haven’t heard anything yet. So far I’ve only seen film producing majors have any sort of activity/acceptances during this wave, but it might be because CC is such a small pool.

USC doesn’t work with or around the UC committment deadline, not a real concern for them, just fyi. Those finding out today and tomorrow likely won’t have final FA info back before the UC dealine, especially with the holiday.

There will be more acceptances between now and the 31st (hello Viterbi and Annenberg, and a sprinkling across majors that already heard), some will still get an SGR between now and 31st as well (ugh).

There will also be a large rejection batch, frankly, I think sooner is better for everyone. For those without SGRs, let’s put a fork in this process and call it done!

@ncityusc nice to know there are other SCA applicants who haven’t hear back. Trying to stay optimistic right now although it seems strange to me that SCA would release waves by major. Then again I’m not sure of anything at this point so who knows!

So, no more acceptances for Dornsife? ? @CADREAMIN

Marshall Applicant who’s still waiting. I guess it’s safe to say I was rejected

Does anyone know how to know if you have been nominated to receive any transfer merit scholarships? Is it included in your financial aid or will they email you separately about it. Hoping I can be one to receive it as my family does not think it is a good financial idea for me to attend USC. ):

Hey guys, I’m a Marshall applicant for sophomore transfer and I got a SGR back on April 12th, I was wondering does this mean anything positive or negative versus receiving one now?

@tnm996 I’m right here with you, it’s so hard to picture turning down USC but it doesn’t make sense financially for us :frowning:

Did anyone hear back from vieterbi yet? Also, where did you guys check your portal?
https://applyto.usc.edu/apply/status
I check this one everyday but I havent seen anything for like few months straight…crying…

@RyanLam Nothing yet. I don’t think other than ttps anyone else heard anything. Hopefully we can get something tomorrow. Mine hasn’t changed since February

@GoodAfternoonSir I don’t think so.

I haven’t heard back yet and I think it might only means that now we have a low chance for Fall (still possible though).

Spring is still quite likely if we are not rejected.

Once again, thank you, everyone! Just got back from celebrating with my family, haha.

I was totally not expecting the decision to be released today. I am so ecstatic and relieved I have a college to come home now! I paid my dues and am officially a Trojan! I will be attending in the Fall for Film and TV Production!

To answer everyone’s questions, I did not find out through email. Once the first person posted their acceptance for architecture I freaked out and checked my portal and there it was.

Now I have some questions, haha. I am unable to sign up for housing atm. I’m going to call in the morning but was just wondering if anyone else had that issue? When I put in my ID and do forget my password, it is unable to send the email.

Also, when can I access this yoUSC thing I keep hearing of? I heard you can see how your credits transferred from there and I’m very curious about that, haha.

I’m going to stay on here though! I hope y’all get another wave tomorrow. <3

Fight on!

^^ CONGRATULATIONS! I’m so glad you finally heard from USC!!

I don’t remember the exact wording on the housing portal, but look on the red bar (for example, there are two words in the left hand portion of the red bar) and there are two words. I think one may be “register”. Anyhow, click the one that is not highlighted. Fill out that and follow the directions from there.

@tnm996 It would show up on your FA summary. Last year, it was at the beginning of June (June 1st?). So if you don’t see it on your FA summary by then (assuming it’s been prepared), it’s a bit unlikely that you’re going to get it. They only give about 40 of the transfer merit scholarships, so it’s extremely rare unfortunately.

@Pmilller324
May I ask, what were your stats? Are you currently taking any pre-reqs? I too am a sophomore transfer, with a 4.0 and have not heard back.

TTP Marshall applicant who submitted spring grades last week per SGR, still waiting. Met all the requirements so I’m kind’ve confused.

@sagaciousforever I think spring admission will mainly be SGR students or that’s what I’ve noticed from last years thread.
