@woshua Uh, nope, lol. 100% female. ??♀️
@LAtransfer2019 Why didn’t you apply to any UCs?
Wait am I the only one that got accepted yesterday to Viterbi? That’s kinda odd. Does anyone know if some other people also got accepted to Viterbi?
Maybe because I put my second choice of major as one of the majors in Dornsife?(but I got accepted to Viterbi with the first major that I put)
@LAtransfer2019 your GPA is pretty solid, if you don’t get in I would probably stay another year at the CC. One of my friends was in a similar position last year. He got rejected from Marshall, stayed another year & got into Berkeley Haas. He did not apply to USC a second time.
@GotYa55 I changed my major from Cognitive Science to Business Administration in Fall, and I needed Calc 2 done by fall to be considered by UCLA and Berkeley.
@Ray85 The reason I’m holding back from attending a 3rd year at CC is that I don’t have many classes I need to take, so, in that case, do I just take fillers? Also, what was your friend’s gpa?
@Jiminlovee Extremely odd. I know CC is but a small slice of applicants, but it seems we have some decent Viterbi representation on here. I do find it a little surprising that none of them received any kind of decision. If you got in, there has to be others. Maybe on Twitter, Insta, or elsewhere and those people just don’t use this forum?
@LAtransfer2019 That’s basically what I did. I didn’t have many classes that I needed to take, so I just worked on my foreign language requirement a little more and took a bunch of filler classes. I took micro econ and some pretty random courses just to have a full schedule. I actually wanted to go to CSULB for quite some time and even applied there for grad school. The W’s wouldn’t really matter too much if you do get into USC
@LAtransfer2019 he had a 4.0 when he applied to USC. He did not have Calc 2 completed, that is why he only applied to USC the first time he tried to transfer. Following his rejection, he took Calc 2 in summer & got a “B”. In the fall he took Calc 3 got a “B” & some non-transferable business courses. He’s in Differential Equations & Intro to C++ right now. He’ll be getting “A”s in both clases. Btw he said that he did not apply to USC a second time because he did not want to take biology lab lol.
any international students heard back from Marshall?
@zettasyntax Considering that USC doesn’t work out, in terms of grad school, is bachelor’s degree at UCLA or BERKELEY, viewed different from a degree at CSULB?
Yea I activated it and all but I’m still not sure why it doesn’t work. I was able to log into myUSC too but clicking oasis doesn’t work @rjtmarvel
@LAtransfer2019 There are several people that think like this: UCB > UCLA > USC > CSULB. I think CSULB is a fine institution. It really is all about the connections you make and how you present yourself. I made friends with a USC alumna and she promised me an interview at her workplace (she was this high level HR person) upon my graduation. As promised, she got me the interview, but I completely bombed it and wound up not getting the job. It had to do with programming in the medical field. I was pretty heartbroken, haha. My degree/connection easily helped me score an interview for a really decent job straight out of college, but it was still up to me. Sure, some employers might care, but many others won’t. They just want to see that you got your degree.
Hello everyone. Just informing everyone on my situation, and maybe it will be informative to other individuals. I was given SGR somewhere in April and shortly after submitting my grades May 20th, I was accepted into Marshall May 24th. I was legacy, so maybe that was why I received the news pretty fast. I wish everyone the best for this years application process! Fight on.
is there any chance we hear back on weekends? The wait is ruining my long weekend
@rozhinging It seems a bit unlikely. I heard on a weekend (in 2015), but I found out by mail/package. It seems like portal updates are coming long before the packages show up, so probably not going to be an eventful weekend. It would be amazing if some of you got packages in the mail earlier today, but things are just so wild this year.
@zettasyntax I was wondering if you had an issue with your initial transfer credit report stating that none of your credits would transfer? If I am reading this correctly, the report on Oasis is saying that all of my credits were completed before my HS graduation? I am assuming that this is a mix up with my GED.
Anyone applied to dornsife as math major haven’t received anything like me? Also, I have a question that I took my calc 2 class this semester and get an A-, and do I need to send an e-mail to tell them? I didn’t receive any SGR, and I am really worried about that. I don’t want to let the credential be the reason of rejection
@vegastransfer Do you see something like this?
UNITS EARNED FOR PRE-HS GRADUATION WORK:
15.00 UNITS
COLLEGE COURSES TAKEN BEFORE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION: A
maximum of 16 units can be earned.
123 TR-BASIC 3.0 A BASIC
004296 : CO SCI 208
131 TR-C++PROG 3.0 A C++ PROGRAMMING
004296 : CO SCI 243
131 TR-COMP-1 3.0 A READING AND COMPOSITION 1
004400 : ENGLISH 101
131 TR-JAVA 3.0 A JAVA
004296 : CO SCI 290
131 TR-JUSTICE 3.0 A INTRO TO ADMINISTRATION OF JU
004296 : ADM JUS 001
So all of your courses are showing up here and cap out at 16 units? I don’t know why mine says this either. I already had my GED when I took these classes. I’d definitely give them a call. Maybe they’re still working on it, but a call wouldn’t hurt if you’re worried about what’s going on.
@zettasyntax It is showing all of my courses besides the ones in progress under that section. This is definitely an error. I am sure that this can be easily changed since I provided my GED already with the GED transcripts. That shows that I got my GED in 2016, so I am not too concerned about it. I was just wondering if this happened with other GED recipients lol.
COURSE WORK NOT ACCEPTED IN TRANSFER:
PRE-HS-GRADUATION COURSES: No units have been granted.
College courses must be taught on a college campus by
college faculty and not used toward high school
graduation. If any courses below meet these criteria
and you wish USC credit, file an articulation petition
for one of them at www.usc.edu/oasis, and all of them
will be reviewed.

@vegastransfer Yeah, sounds like there’s a lack of communication between offices or something going on here. That, or they just haven’t finalized your report yet. You can give it a few business days maybe (since I’m pretty sure this process is actually done by people and not automated), but definitely call if it doesn’t change.
