@brookeiu It wouldn’t hurt to email your counselor. But honestly, I doubt itll make a difference seeing that decision dates are so close. There’s also a high chance your counselor might be out of office. I think as long as you mentioned your situation in your essays you should be fine.
@brookeiu Sorry for your struggles and hope all goes well for you going forward. It really would not make any sense to send in something at this point, but mainly because there is no reason to explain a stellar record that happens to include getting a B in Chem and Chem lab. Frankly, it shows you are human and USC loves that more than robot students if that makes sense. That is nothing to worry about and it would not keep you from being accepted in any regard, particularly in your major. Also, addressing mental health issues is not something you do on a whim and last minute, that has to be thought about carefully and presented/written about in a way they see as positive for you and the school.
Also, I think sending it in at this point does risk coming off as desperate/last ditch. If for some reason you aren’t accepted, the information may be provided for an appeal, even though transfers appeals are rarely granted and they don’t have a process for transfer appeals. This year has been pretty odd, so it could be worth a try. But let’s hope you don’t need to do that! Good luck!
Submitted my intent to enroll for the Spring. What are my next steps??
Where are all the fellow spring admits @? ? What are your plans for first semester?
@Caliweedandusc I’m probably going to share an apartment with other usc admits and live close by despite being a spring admit during the fall semester. I still have access to all usc opportunities except for classes during this time so it will give me time xtra time to connect with the school and network. I’ll probably take 1-2 cc classes on top of that.
I signed a lease at gateway for my daughter a couple of weeks ago. USC housing just assigned her to Century. My question is, how hard is it to re-let your lease for gateway. They would not release is from our lease and said we could re-let it if we found someone to take over for a $425 fee. Thanks for any insight.
@jorgetirebiter If possible, you could try a USC housing page on facebook to see if anyone is open to taking over the lease. I’m sure there are students out there still in need of housing.
Thanks fuhnancy, after discussing it with my daughter and getting feedback from some students she knows, she is going to stick with gateway. She is going to rush, so she may sublease second semester if she can get housing in a sorority?
Hoping we all hear good news today.
what is the first signal notification. is it through email ? or portal ?
@jorgetirebiter sounds like a good plan. She will have more freedom at Gateway - it’s less convenient for friends to come to your dorm and can be super restrictive for older students (non freshman). Before the Village a couple years ago, virtually everyone wanted out of USC housing after freshman year. Now sophomores tend to want the Village, but a lot still want the grown up housing outside of school rules. And for spring admits they may be happy to take ur lease and not have to commit to 12 months elsewhere. So I would remind people here and any other housing groups that you may have lease avail in January. There’s also people coming back from fall semester abroad that will be looking for housing.
Welcome back to another night of waiting you all. Hopefully good news comes to us tonight. We all deserve it after this long wait!
@trojantobemaybe Some people don’t receive an email, some have. It’s been quite odd with that. A lot of them have been coming later than when others found out. I suggest just checking the portal no matter if you have received an email or not because you never know.
Still nothing…Ugh…
Nothing yet still either. Holding out until 6:00.
@transferusc88 Why am I starting to loathe these hours each day? lol
The wait is ridiculous. I bet USC is the only university that would drag transfer admission till this late into the summer.
Cadreaming, I was hoping you would reply with reassurance. Such a fun time, but also like navigating maze. I trust your advice and counsel.
Cadreaming, I was hoping you would reply with a reassuring message. It is like navigating a maze and your advice and counsel is a godsend. I feel much better after seeing your reply. I was having buyers remorse all day, but after reading your response I think she will have a better experience at Gateway.
Anyone else feel like they just don’t seem to care about us? I think I’m going to call tomorrow if I don’t hear anything tonight. See what’s been going on.
