@CADREAMIN portal says do not submit any papers we have no personally asked for. None of my spring grades were going to be transferable. Unless they count the overall.
@Doodlesack They are talking about xtra letters of recommendation, certificates and other miscellaneous things students will send in thinking they will mean something. They really want to see all grades whether transferable or not. Only makes sense they would.
@transferusc88 did u get into usc?
Am I still allowed to join clubs and other USC activities during the fall semester despite being a spring admit? If not, are there any other possible ways to get involved on campus during the fall semester? Is it possible to obtain a USC ID card during the fall semester as well?
I have been experiencing problem with joining the USC Community group on Facebook. I put in my USC email account, and they said that they would send me an email. However, I have not received any confirmation email. Anyone know why this is happening?
@CADREAMIN did you get in?
as sad as it is to say, i wont be able to attend USC this fall due to financial reasons. I tried to appeal but 60k a year is way too much, even for my dream school. ripppppppp i hope all of those who choose to attend have a fantastic time!!!
Anyone hear about appeal decisions yet?
Hey guys,
Currently I am a junior at USC who transferred here last semester during the spring semester of my sophomore year. If you guys have any questions about anything having to do with transferring to USC then feel free to reply to my post. Additionally, I know it can be very hard to get on campus housing as a transfer so if you are looking for a place to live next semester, I am looking for someone to take over the lease for my apartment right next to USC. Good luck to all of you as you start this next journey of your life and fight on!
Hello, I’m not sure where to post this so I’m hoping that I may be able to get some help here. I was accepted into usc for spring 2020 as a junior, but currently only a little less than 60 of my units are transferring, which makes me a sophomore, and I’m fine with that (I I want to spend the extra semester/year at USC and graduate in 2022). However, I’m taking 6 units at my CC at the moment which means I would go up to possible junior status by January, plus, I applied as a junior and I think am expected to still be out in three semesters. I want to let my advisor who is going to suggest my classes at orientation know that I don’t want to squish everything into the 3 semesters so that they can choose my first semester classes accordingly and I can be considered a sophomore. Who do I contact about this concern? I am a SCA student.
Going to @CADREAMIN since you seem to have helped many in this thread, I would appreciate your insight if possible!
@xsc1999 I think you are overstating/overthinking the importance of “junior or sophomore standing” at USC. You don’t have to leave in 3 semesters, there is no pressure to finish at a specific point in time at USC. People add minors, or double a major or change majors later in their college career, necessitating a longer stay than the usual four years; some also graduate early! Some start working and go to part time status - many things influence length of stay at any college. The constraint may be, of course, is how long you can afford to stay at USC. Tuition, housing - the longer you stay in college the more it costs, and the later you start making money. But that is your choice. The other thing, particularly in certain smaller majors, is that critical classes for your major (and graduation) may only be offered in either the fall or spring, but not both, so you have to plan for that too. Your course load is up to you - talk to you advisor, it is your education, you have leeway in getting it done pretty much however you want to. Good luck and congrats on SCA!
@CADREAMIN Thank you, that really helped ease my worries! Do you happen to know how to get in contact with my advisor at this point in time? Are we already assigned them as spring admits and are we able to email them if so? I can’t seem to find who mine is anywhere.
Yes you can contact them:
hi! i know this was last year but i am planning to apply to USC for fall 2020. i’m pretty much in the same situation as you/similar. did you end up going to usc? did you appeal for financial aid? how far off was this from the finaid calculator if you used it? if you see this, thank you so much! i really appreciate the help.
I forgot, once you submit your application on the Common App is when they email you the instructions you create your FAST profile? You know, to see the status of your app and all…
@Doodlesack Yes. You should be getting an email giving you information of the portal.
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if I was the only one having an issue entering college coursework for the USC common app? When I press it, it says “You do not have to enter any college coursework for the program you have selected.” Can someone give me feedback on this please!
did you find a solution?
@jessical444 It is exactly as it says. There is no need to enter additional coursework. I have that as well and I just moved on with the application.
hello guys. Does anyone know how to find the email of your counselor? I find the name of my counselor on the portal, but USC’s website doesn’t show his email. thanks!
