2020-2021 USC Transfer

I applied to Dornsife but I still didn’t have got a decision…

Hey guys, do you know if merit scholarship recipients find out with their admission decision or separately in their financial aid?

@WCWSM52 Correct. You must complete 2 GE’s at USC, so it is technically impossible to complete all of your GE requirements before coming to USC. The good news is that you guys get to take any GE category you want. Back in my day, you were restricted to taking a class from Social Issues and one from Science and Its Significance. So say science isn’t your strong suit, you can now take two GEs that suit your fancy  I know a lot of people don’t like writing heavy courses, so maybe they’d like a more quantitative GE. I got to take linguistics classes for my two GE’s and luckily one of them also counted toward my major requirements so it wasn’t all that bad.

Has anyone transferring from an international school heard back? When might we expect that?

Also is there a probability for another wave tonight!?

I hope there is another wave tonight. Just checked y portal and there is still nothing.

@sagaciousforever I’ll look into it! A lot of people seem to highly recommend Tuscany so I’ll probably apply for housing there.

Best of luck to everyone today!

I sent in some unsolicited Spring Grades to the email they reccommend on the USC site (not my counselers) and I noticed they were opened via email from the transcript service itself, but nothing was added to my portal on it. Is this normal? Does that indicate my advisor wont get to view my offical spring grades?

Accepted for Econ at Dornsife as Junior! I didn’t have SGR, coming from CCC.

Anyone knows how long it takes them to send financial aid?

@gabsPL Congrats!! Were you accepted today? I think I saw people indicating on the forum that they received it a few days to a week later

@CADREAMIN I’m currently a freshman applying for sophomore transfer. I got an SGR last month. I know that you mentioned a couple post back that if anyone got “SGR, that did NOT send in grades yet, get accepted straight away before your quarter/semester is up”. I was just kind of curious, does this happen or has this happened before? Thanks so much for your help!

Also, a big congrats to all who got accepted! Very exciting!!

@gabsPL took 5 days for mine.

@grapesoda2 no, I got accepted yesterday

After refreshing every 3 minutes for the past month & a half… now, what do we do with ourselves?

some of us will keep refreshing for the next few days :stuck_out_tongue:

Those of you who submitted SGR without being told to:
Did it show up in your portal?

Accepted!!! Mechanical Engineering Major. H.S. GPA 2.65; College GPA 3.92 from Syracuse University (4 semesters). Top curriculum with campus T.A. experience, patents, and IEEE published paper.
Good luck to everyone who hasn’t heard back yet!

I haven’t been this impatient since…this pst month while waiting for USC decisions LMAO I need to see my financial aid package so I know whether USC ‘22 or UCSD ‘22 is going on my instagram bio

@UCBUSCalum Thank you for your response!

I will consider posting a separate post since this is mainly for applicants who are seeking transfer advice.

I have just made my decision today to change that “B+” to “P”. I think the GPA difference doesn’t matter much in the long run, but it matters in the short run. I want to focus on next semester’s recruiting opportunities so it is essential for me to get a GPA that is as high as possible. Another thing that I thought about is that I only get to do “pass no pass” under very rare circumstances and it is highly likely that I don’t get any chance to do that in the future. Thus, I am glad that I changed it!

As for the Big 4, I am glad that your son is working with one of them! I actually know the SLP (Summer Leadership Program) and I applied to EY and Deloitte’s SLP this Spring. I got into the final round interview with EY, however, I did not get an offer. I will try again next semester for next summer’s internship. Fight on!

@bean01262020 Interestingly, I got into USC and UCSD too (last year)! Both schools are great and you will succeed wherever you go given your academic potential.
