@historylover5 Thank you and yes! I am transferring as a sophomore (TTP)
Unencouraging not to appeal?
That brings you back full-circle to where you started.
You probably meant “encouraging not to appeal.”
But he was never accepted from an appeal.
That’s exactly what USC is saying to you about your appeal.
I GOT ACCEPTED FOR MARSHALL
I did get i for Spring 2021. Not sure if I will accept the offer just because I am not in a position to wait around. I have been at community college for 3 years and have completed roughly 100 units. I have been accepted to out of state schools and a few UC’s. Any advice on if I can get Fall admission? I am just not sure what I should do
@poolsideconvo78 congrats! Realistically, fall chances are slim to none, so I would base decision on that. Being a transfer, getting in this late behind many other spring transfers admits, plus the freshman spring admits does not bode well for that. You can always call to verify, they can’t take your acceptance away.
Awesome, did they reply by themselves without asking first? or you ask them if they have received it?
again, YOU ARE NOT TELLING US ANYTHING WE DONT KNOW ALREADY, you think we don’t know the chances are slim? you are pathetic saying appealing is something people do for fun and that you waste admissions, time oh yea? less than 5 mins in reading an appeal? wow, that sounds like a lifetime. Considering the time they make us wait for a decision is not even close.
When you appeal your admission materials get pulled by the appeal committee meaning they fall under other hands that they MIGHT reconsider you. I’m not encouraging anyone, I’m letting people know to ignore pessimistic users like you that discourage the idea of appealing, and you meaning we are dumb about us not knowing that an appeal requires new information.
It’s about exhausting all the chances they give you to get in, is not about getting your hopes up, it’s about WHAT IF… if it bothers other users saying you don’t get closure until august or whatever, so what is us, not you, we know how long can it take.
If they wouldn’t accept any appeals do you think there wouldn’t be a place in the portal to submit one?
@Maxles1999 are you a freshmen or sophomore applicant? Did you also receive/send SGR?
And congrats!!
Guys I just want to say do not give up if your dream is to attend USC. This was my 3rd time applying and frankly I did not expect much this time around but I got in. My GPA is not great but I did have an upward trend and poured my heart into my essays. USC truly does have a holistic approach to admissions. Good luck to everyone.
Hey guys any transfer students for viterbi just not receive any reply? And my withdraw button is still there, i dont even know what going on. I know that with the riots going on and everything its hard for people to work but im just stressing out bcs of the no reply.
THIS, this is the reason I say there’s nothing wrong with reapplying as much as you want/can and also appealing. They rejected Steven Spielberg 3 times and now they eve have a building name after him at SCA, CONGRATS!!!
I meannnn Spielberg went to CSULB tho lmao
Anyone hear back from Viterbi recently ? Odd not seeing anyone being accepted or given a decision in a while.
For those who have been admitted, what does on campus housing look like right now?
@Brandon1225 Havent heard back from them either. Im going to call my transfer counselor tomorrow and ask whats up
@Brandon1225 and @muhammedurukan I applied to viterbi and got my decision on may 27th.
Appeal is only there for people who have significant new information that would make the committee reconsider. From what I have heard, the admission and appeal committee are the same people. Where did you get the information that they have a totally separate committee for appeals?
You also said it takes 5 minutes to read an appeal, but did you consider how many appeals they have to go through just to reject almost all of them? Not even mentioning you are wasting your OWN time.
Unless you got a significant award or some huge recognition, do not send your already rejected application for them to look at it again.
You are also missing my whole point on getting your hopes up and not plan for other options. Because the truth is you are most likely not getting in. And that is a good thing because if many people can get into USC, then it loses a big part of its value.
@Doodlesack stop hating on others who disagree with you and calling people pathetic online. Not sure if you got accepted or not, I surely won’t hope to have someone like you in USC
If you get rejected, move on with your life and try again!
@innowin Ah Congrats! Dang expecting a rejection now then… lol
@jelly2122 yes I am! u too?
@poolsideconvo78 Fall is gonna be a slim chance like someone else mentioned. I think you already have your answer though. If USC was your dream school I think you would be ecstatic for spring admit. Since you are not, then I believe you should take the school you like best for Fall. Nothing wrong with that, I think your mind is set on a certain schedule. I would have been in the same shoes if I had a spring admit. For what it is worth, my opinion is that most schools will have an online format for Fall. So spring is sounds like a great time to start at USC. But if you’re 100% set on being done in two years(assuming your a junior admit) then I get it. Just put yourself two years from now and think if it was worth starting in Fall at another school.
