2020-2021 USC Transfer

@Nightmanrunneth I got my financial aid notice maybe a week after I got accepted. I was accepted June 19th and I think I got my aid around the 26th. Unfortunately, although my parents do not support me whatsoever, I have to report their income. They do well for themselves so I end up getting zero aid and take out private loans for school, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles I guess. I’ve been seeing on the USC subreddit that a lot of peoples’ financial aid appeals were rejected this year, but I’m going to try anyways. Based on what i’ve seen on this page it takes about a week for your financial aid decision to be released.

@sleeplessincali They emailed you your notice? Also, let me know if your aid ends up working out!

Hi there! I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share which essay prompt they are chose to write? (Especially if you got accepted!). I was thinking about doing “What is something about yourself that is essential to understanding you?” and writing about a hobby. Does that seem dumb though? Are they looking for something more “deep”?

@Nightmanrunneth They emailed me when my financial aid decision was available and when they decided to grant me Fall admission. I’ll let you know, hopefully the financial aid gods favor you!

Any Spring admits moved to Fall admit

@Eieio123 I was offered but ended up turning it down. Literally all the classes for my major, required GE, and writing course were filled, so I didn’t want to pay 30k for classes that I can take at the CC. Wish they offered this when there was more time to get classes and such.

Hey guys I was wondering how bad 2 W’s would look on my transcript for trying to get into USC. So far I have a 4.0, great extracurriculars (Eagle Scout, 2 Clubs, Job experience), and all my GE’s and Prerequisite requirements for my major (Business Administration). Still though I’ve heard bad things for transfers regarding W’s. I have also retaken the classes where I got my W’s and got an A in both of them. What do you guys think are my chances?

@minseans Do you mind re-posting that in the thread for your class? This is the old one and is pretty much inactive and ready to shut down (it can be confusing, I know)

Here’s the next transfer class thread (2021-2022)

Hey guys, I plan on transferring to USC Marshall School of Business from CCC. I was hoping you guys could possibly give me some insight on my chances…
I currently have a 3.73 GPA, but hopefully by the end of this semester, If i am consistent with my A’s, it should go up to a 3.79.
If all things go well then by the end of Spring 2021 I should have 3.83. I will have completed 62 transferable credits by the time I am done.
The problem is I lack the extra curricular. I had an internship as a sales associate but not much else.
I also understand USC emphasizes students take at least 4 classes per semester, but I only just started taking 4 classes for Fall of 2020 and Spring 2021.
Also… I took a computer information class my first year at CCC, but unfortunately I got a B and it brought my GPA down. Does USC care more for your overall GPA regardless if it’s not transferable or is the GPA based off of what is transferable.
I am sorry if this seems like too much to answer, but any insight could help.
Thank You.
