@CalPlsAcceptMe Nice! One other person on this thread, not sure what the turn around rate is going to be on that though; usually only 1 or 2 people get off the waitlist.

Applying for Computer Science with a minor in Philosophy
College ECs:
1.Internship at cyber security company turned full time job
2.part of Humanities focused cohort thing that’s a partnership between Johns Hopkins University and my school
3. President of programming related club
4. Student Government
5. School Honor’s Program - officer
6. PTK - didn’t do much there though
7. Part of school cyber security team (capture the flag tournaments and the like)
HS ECs: bare bones, literally some 2 week internship at a now defunct game company and being senior prefect
8. not really an EC but I’m taking 2 classes at Johns Hopkins this semester with a program my school has.
Essays: I try a bit too hard to be funny in life and was scared I was doing the same in my essays so I got a bunch of people to read them and tell me the parts they found blatantly unfunny.
My 5 words to describe myself included “witty (results may vary).” and my best compliment was “my professor telling me I have a dry sense of humor”
I talked about being a CS one trick pony but now picking up an interest in philosophy thanks to the humanities cohort thing
I also talked about how I’ve been programming for a while but have been pretty bad at it.
Leading up to the decision, I thought my essays were trash but re-reading them now I’d maybe give them a 6/10
I have no idea how this happened. I got hit by 4 rejections and was already planning for another semester at my CC, college applications are weird
