2025/2026 Gardening Thread!

We live in Georgia and my husband said those are from Burpee Perfection seeds. All the remaining plants are Better Boys from a couple of different companies. This is the first year we started from seeds for a number of the plants. Next year I’ll try that for all my pepper plants. I can’t get enough shishitos and poblanos. :slightly_smiling_face:

Love peonies! Ours are also in bloom. Sadly, I can’t bring any cut flowers inside because… cats.

This has been a great garden year so far despite having to start over with my zucchini. I think that golden zucchini got too much water and kept getting end rot on the fruit. The one I planted a couple of weeks ago seems to be going strong, so fingers crossed. Anyway, we’ve never had a cucumber plant this huge! It has really gone crazy and I may have to cut some of it back before it interferes too much with my dahlias. My first year with dahlia success!

My garden has been growing like crazy too!

I have zucchini growing, green tomatoes that may start to ripen in this heat, some small peppers and eggplant. The secondary raised bed has all my herbs.

My tomato plants tripled in size while we were out of town! The automatic watering system worked well. Early Girl freebie has some green fruit already!

Is the cucumber plant producing???

I picked my first poblano yesterday. Tomatoes seem awfully leggy - and a fair bit flowers but very little green fruit yet.

Yes, we’ve gotten quite a few cucumbers from that plant, but not many from the other two plants we have (one is in the ground and one in a bucket). My shishitos are going strong, but poblanos and serranos are slower. My husband is in charge of the tomato bed and he is in heaven. He has had probably 50 ripe ones so far! And I got to make pickles.:slightly_smiling_face:

This is an arch that we made for a grape trellis. It’s the most current picture I have, but now, several weeks later, we must have several hundred bunches of grapes growing on this trellis. We don’t have that many friends or neighbors, and are trying to figure out what to do with them when they ripen. Maybe a food bank, if they’ll take them. We’ve never had so many grapes before, this crop is huge!

Gorgeous pic and the grapes will make it even more so! What type of grapes? A food bank is a great idea if they can put them to good use!

So beautiful! Would love to see a current picture when you have time.

We just got back from a trip, so here’s a fresh picture. So many grapes. I think we’ll put a little table under there, invite friends and have cheese and crackers, wine and grapes off the vine!

I think they’re Canadice, Interlaken and Himrod. They are not large grapes, but they are seedless and grow very well in the PNW.

Wow, that looks so pretty! The wine and cheese night sounds like a great idea!

Picked all my garlic this morning! It’s been dry this week and rain likely on and off for a few days coming up so it was the right time to pick it - best to pick when the ground is dry. And right on time for the time frame “usually pick around 4th of July”!

Now I’ll let it dry and cure before destalking and cleaning with a dry brush.

Fort Blue (our blueberry enclosure) is up and yielding fruit with a new security feature (which can be seen in the upper left of the picture below). We are getting lots of fruit and planning to have blueberry pie for the 4th of July celebration tomorrow.

Eggplants are in bloom, Japanese cucumbers are coming up, and Kahuku Golden tomatoes are forming fruit… pix below. The two varieties of tomatoes that are supposed to be early fruit bearing are not doing much yet.
