<p>To all those who are comparing the <em>admitted</em> student profiles (SAT/ACT) for this year with previous years’ <em>enrolled</em> student stats (as reported in the Common Data Set): Don’t! For most schools, the admitted student body has higher stats than the enrolled student body, as some of the so-called strongest candidates decide to enroll somewhere else.</p>
<p>I wouldn’t be too surprised if the enrolled stats for next fall are indeed higher than last year’s, but we won’t know that for a long time.</p>
