mg–you must not have any teenaged boys in your life.

I was going to ask this. I must be getting old, I am not familiar with this expression. I do have 2 teens (one is a boy), maybe my I just don’t hear it.

BTW-the article is funny. D’s school is on the list, and I’m sure she will think it’s funny too.

For “douchiest” think arrogant, haughty jerks.

I am familiar with the word, and it’s origin, and I am deeply offended and disappointed to find this in the Parent’s forum even if it is the “cafe”. (OK, maybe not deeply offended, maybe mildly amused and surprised) :D

So true about OSU, cannot mention or wear anything related to U of Mich,. might be severily harassed.

Ahh, what kind of guy actually reads GQ? Ok, maybe I am jaundiced. Working class people from Chicago like me just don’t get into guys finding different ways to be stylish and effete. I don’t get it. Surely I must be impaired.

^ My S. just bought nicest shirt and blazer ($3 and $10), blazer was originally $700 at… Salvation army where he stopped to drop off his staff. Did not see blazer but button down shirt is very nice. He is the one who never ever cared to be dressed nicely and loves old worn clothe (like me). Surely, there are ways to be stylish, even with cars if you buy used ones. Everybody is different, if one wants to be stylish, why not? Good for economy anyway, including Salvation Army store.

Very funny! I love that Harvard is so douchy, that it has it’s own explanation. Why wouldn’t htat make it number 1 though? I think UVA is not accurate in suggesting its football players to go class - that ship sailed at UVA.

Well, I have heard “***bag”. Strangely enough, it seems to refer to males usually of the obnoxious type. But “douchiest” as a description of a school is new to me. Anyway, do the boys who use the term even know what a *bag is? Does anyone even anymore?

That urban dictionary link cracked me up. I love “manther” and “afterclap”. (I thought “afterclap” was related to douchy, in the STD sense. Too logical of me.)

^^^ Why does CC ***** out where I type in d-----bag??? Is it on a list somewhere?

yes mousegray, it’s a “bad” word!! Hence my shock and disgust at seeing a derivation of this bad word in a topic TITLE ! inappropriate!!

By way of definition - Will Farrell as “W” to Tina Fey as Sarah Palin: “My oh my, but you sure are folksy! I used to try to come off folksy, but it just came out douchy.”

If you attend an Ivy, I think this is a list that you want your school to be on because, after all, most of the others are there. But not, for instance, Penn. For Penn to not give off the vibes that would get it on this list, is kind of like being at a roast where everyone else gets abused by zingers, but no one can think of anything to zing you with.
