It’s not a pre-med course. Pre-med Courses:
Bio 1 and 2 with lab
Chem 1 and 2 with lab
Organic 1 and 2 with lab
Biochemistry
Calc 1 and 2
Physics 1 and 2 with lab
Take these and report back about what is or isn’t unusual grade-wise.

What does being on the Dean’s list get you? My daughter got a letter.
Agree, it is med schools that define what courses are needed. There is a sociology component in the MCAT now, too, isn’t there?
I just looked at your previous posts. You dropped AP Bio, right? And had a 26 ACT in science. I’d say this B- and Dean’s List is not your biggest concern. You have bigger challenges as a pre-med. Put this behind you and start the hard sciences sequence next semester. You need to find out soon if you can handle the harder pre-med classes – that gives you a chance to change majors if you need to without tacking on an extra year of college.
Caveat: I did not go to med school so I do not know for sure whether being able to say you were on the dean’s list every semester is the boost you say it is. But I doubt it.
That said, wanting to be on the dean’s list is a high school-level obsession. Get over it. Nobody cares at all about this stuff irl
Do not worry about making the Dean’s List…it’s not important. You did very well during your first semester in college.
Moving forward… you may have some professors that …in your opinion …are not so great… yet there will be students getting A’s with those professors. You need to figure out how to succeed in those classes- whether it is attending all office hours, extra help sessions, study groups, reviewing your notes every night and making sure you understand the material, etc.
It is time to move on.
I agree with everyone else here. Literally no one cares about who made Deans List once high school is over. If it’s something that you need to prove to yourself, it seems like you’ve already justified not making it (which is fine).
Grades tend to be an approximation to what you should be getting. There are some grades that are gifts that you did n’t deserve, and there are some that are just tough. These tend to average out.
You should care about the education not the grade. Who cares if you are on the Dean’s list.
There’s probably nothing you can do about the B-. You’ll get over the disappointment you feel about it right now and move on. No choice but to put it behind you and move on.
