<p>Sorry I was unclear about the rec letter. Basically he has it set up like this-- he asks students to type up the letter as he speaks (so he is writing the letter, not the student). However, I was able to give insight on my activities and course selection to further enhance his knowledge of my ECs and grades. I actually did not have much input to give, other than explaining my work experience and some volunteer work.</p>
<p>Any counselor that spends that much time on recs is committed to his job. Being that dedicated means he would probably love to establish and grow relationships with adcom. Why don’t you try him. As modadunn says, many see it as part of their job and many love this part. It helps the students and helps them grow as counselors.</p>
<p>GPA by year (weighted):
freshman- 3.71
sophomore- 3.86
junior- 4.21
senior (this year so far)- 4.3 or 4.4
SAT-- 2150 (math 740, read 720, write 690)
top 10% at 70-80th (somewhere in that range) best public high school in country</p>
