<p>For Berkeley’s Foreign Language requirement, you need to have taken the third-year level to fulfill it. So by taking it, it MAY boost your chances (I don’t know if this is true… I mean, it can’t hurt right? unless you fail…) but you just don’t have to take foreign language at berkeley which can be difficult, hard to get in, and hard to fit in your schedule. I don’t really know how UCs view this in terms of admissions.</p>
