We just got back from a trip to Greece that we gave ourselves to celebrate 30th Anniversary. Absolutely loved it!! A great trip.

Very easily booked and arranged through Costco–all transportation, transfers, taxis, etc and hotels included. Also arranged short tours for areas we visited as we chose.

TRIP!!! (Wherever you have always wanted to go) … memories, adventure and fun! Do the kitchen when you return…

If you still have a kitchen, trip first…

Heaven can wait…^^

Just got back from our 30th celebration. A week in an apartment in Paris. Just right. Wonderful time and very little stress. We’ve done both Italy and Greece in the last few years on our own and found that Italy is easier because they have more options for transportation between cities. While Greece is fairly easy between islands (but not that easy), getting around the mainland on public transport is not easy. We prefer to not rent cars usually. You meet more people on public transport if it is available and it’s part of the experience (and less scary - Greeks are craaaazy drivers). No, no, no to the kitchen.

Have I got a thread for you… from my planning for our 25th (late) trip. We had frequent flier miles and knew we wanted to do Europe. It was an open slate, with little prior international travelling.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/1241705-europe-trip-ideas.html?highlight=europe

We ended up doing the Norwegian Western Med 7-day cruise (Barcelona, Naples/Pompei, Rome, Florence, Cannes, Marseilles, back to Barcelona). We also had time in Barcelona (1 night before the cruise, 1 night after). At the end of the trip we took the high speed train to Madrid and stayed 2 nights there.

This trip had a busy shore excursion itinerary (and pricey too… some days over $200pp, including transporation, tourguides, and fancy lunch). But it provided the Europe sampler that we wanted for that trip. It is a magical memory, but that is partly due to our excellent luck with weather in early May of 2012. (We heard it had rained prior 2 weeks.)

On a return visit, we’d likely go someplace like Italy countryside and stay a while. Or DH has a dream to do a houseboat on canals in France - I’ll pass on that until the grown kids want to come along and be the crew.

Someday maybe we will remodel the kitchen. For now there is a lovely big framed collage of our Europe trip. It still makes us smile a lot!

I’d suggest doing a Mediterranean cruise with a few days (either before or after the cruise) in Italy. We did this a few years ago - 3 days in Rome before the cruise (hit Santorini, Athens, Naples, Pompeii on the cruise) and then spent an additional 2 days in Rome before heading back. Granted it was not an anniversary cruise and the kids were with us, but we absolutely loved it. The cruise critic web site is wonderful to help plan.

Cruise trip would be more exciting!! If you guys are interested in photography, then I guess you should never miss this chance to go on a cruise vacation. Trust me it would be a heap of fun! I went on a cruise journey couple of months back with Blount Small Ship Adventures located in Rhode Island, USA, and I had the time of my life! So go ahead with it. Happy Wedding Anniversary in advance!
Stay blessed!

Cruising out of Barcelona on. Royal Caribbean in two weeks. Ports near Nice, Naples, Rome, and two more I can’t remember right now.

Kitchen remodel 6 years ago, nice to have, but the process did NOT feel like a present.
