I have a photographer coming, and a musician during dinner. Trying to think of some other party favors…

Inexpensive party favor…photo bookmark. Place photos (either electronically or “real size”) on a vertical line. Reduce to a bookmark size strip ( 2-3" wide x about 8" long). Wedding photo on top…and a few “through the years” photos below. Title the first photo “Chapter 1”. If they have lived in different cities or homes, each picture associated with those places can be a different chapter. Or…you can just skip the “chapter” references. Print and cut into bookmark size. Laminate (better if laminated after cutting into strips, but, if you don’t have access to a laminating machine, can have a place like Kinkos do it…but would probably want to laminate in 8.5" x 11" sheets, and then cut.) Punch a hole in the top of each bookmark and attach a gold (for 50th anniversary) ribbon. We put these in a circle on the center of each table, with gold cupcake papers filled with white jordan almonds in between. Looked very nice, and both were a “take away” for the guests.

For another golden anniversary, we purchased small pots of in-season flowering plants. Put gold florist foil around the plants. Printed business card size pictures of the couple (business card perforated sheets can be found at most office supply stores) and attached them to Popsicle sticks that had been spray painted gold. Put one of these picture picks in each plant. Used the plants with picks as table and room decorations, and gave one to everyone one to take home.

Have you seen those greeting cards that feature a single calendar year, then list the prices of various goods and services. Perhaps the one for (around) 1960 or the exact year of their anniversary can be found in multiple. If there’s space on it, let the children autograph them (just to keep them occupied mid-party) and send home as party favors.

Just wanted to refresh this for other ideas–and then add one we’re doing: I found a company that will print custom water-bottle labels! We put a photo and our own words on it. Since we’re going to Hawaii, I’m arranging to get un-labeled water there and put the labels on myself. Very inexpensive and a fun, but usable party favor for our vacation!
