7th grade SAT and ACT scores

lol my bro got a higher math score than me (senior) as a 7th grader by 20 points… ugg

7th gr SAT 1640
11th gr SAT 2380
8th gr ACT 32
11th gr ACT 35

Yohoyoho- Amazing 11th grade score. drools

7th grade(I took it once in the beginning of 7th grade):

1690
M: 560
CR: 570
W:560, 8 essay

11th grade(I took it once in the beginning of 11th grade):

2340
M: 750
CR: 800
W: 790

It’s weird that I’ve always considered math to be my best subject, but I always mess it up with the stupid mistakes… :(. I wish I tried harder when I was in 7th grade. I feel like if I actually taught myself some algebra and studied for writing and reading, I could have done better on the SAT. I remember being shamed by my low scores compared to everyone else at CTY.

wow everyone got fantastic scores for 7th grade, and my parents were just proud of my 1300 I got this year in 7th grade! ^_^

My older son got a 35 ACT composite when he was 13, it might have been 12 – is that about 7th grade age?

However, he took the test as a high school junior; he graduated high school at age 14.

7th Grade: 560 M 490 V
10th Grade: 760 M 660 V (KILL MYSELF WITH THIS READING SECTION! AHH)

Has anyone received their child’s EXPLORE scores from the January 22, 2011 sitting? Wondering if ours got lost somewhere.

7th Grade: 620M 600V
11th Grade: 760M 790V

What are all these 7th graders doing on CC?

My 7th grade composite SAT score was good (2010), and I didn’t take it in 8th grade. I still haven’t taken the ACT either; I am currently a freshman in high school.

I know I scored really well as a middle schooler- any tips to improve significantly (2300+) by junior year?

Do nothing. If you did that well in 7th without the kind of curricular experience most juniors have, you will probably get 2300+ without much practice.

You’ll be fine, Slimone. My son:

7th: 1850 M700, CR610, W540 (brushed up on math by watching some videos)
8th: 2120 M800, CR640, W680 (Don’t think he studied for this one)
11th: 2320 M800, CR790, W730 (Did some practice tests out of a Princeton Review guide)

Haha I wish I was as confident in myself as you guys. I honestly think the high score was luck instead of skill, but I’m not worrying about standardized testing yet. Thanks for the feedback :)

7th grade: 1740 (610 CR, 580 M, 550 W) for CTY
11th grade: 2280 (800 CR, 730 M, 750 W), first “real” testing

Wow, all amazing improvements, guys. I guess I can be expecting a 2200+ score 4-5 years from now (I have a 1930, 7th grade) so long as I don’t completely mess up…?

7th: 1770, 610 V 590 M 570 W I think

Just took the March SAT so waiting back on results…

11th: 35 ACT

7th: OH WAIT I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW ABOUT THESE TESTS AND INSTEAD ENJOYED MY YOUTH

i went to CTY johns hopkins and LOVED it(i almost forgot about it, it was so long ago- did creative writing)

One of my 7th grade students is studying for the SAT/ACT and she has plenty of time to get a satisfactory score - so start early and end up with a great score…

Nerdlings,

My son took the SAT in 7th grade to qualify for SET and in 8th grade through a talent search. He was able to travel to Baltimore (on my mom’s dime!) for the grand awards ceremony and saw a baseball game. The ceremony wasn’t exciting but he loved the baseball game. He still had a life-he was unschooled until he was 12 and he still loves to learn. It is possible to take the SAT early and still have time to enjoy your youth. :-)
