wearing a face mask in youth league is comparable to wearing your hat under your helmet when you go up to bat. no matter what the outcome of the at bat, you still look like an idiot

I’m guessing none of you have read the 2nd article on ESPN about this, but let me enlighten some of you. (I can only find the original article that didn’t mention this part)

This kid is being allowed to play, just not in that “co-ed developmental league” he’s already been pitching in a much better league where he is an average pitcher. The Will Power Fitness team that he is being banned from brought him in half way through the season, clearly as a ringer. I do not agree with teams forfeiting simply because of him, but I also don’t like the idea that his parents don’t want to push their son to play against better competition.

I think the mound is a lot closer in to home plate in little league, so the pitch may actually seem like it’s around 60-70 mph, which is way to fast for a nine year old, actually a lot of adults too. I agree with barpkeo, move him up a level or two.

LOL no child left behind is now in little league baseball!

Kids under 12 years old can injure themselves for life by throwing fast balls. It has to do with the development of the shoulder. I doubt he is prevented from pitching because he is ‘too good’. Fast does not always equal good as many people assume. I think you only got part of the facts.
