A Different Talk Me Down Thread

Very relieved.
Now that the cat is found, I’d like to say that I haven’t let my cats out since one died at the paws of coyotes. I don’t know where you are, but there are coyotes almost everywhere these days.

Glad to hear she is back , ebeeeee. One of our strays who lives in our garage disappeared in last month’s blizzard. We searched everywhere for her …we have sheds that we were in getting out Christmas stuff…she does like to go in the crawspace undr the house too, but no luck finding her. She was gone for over two weeks and we gave up…then she showed up at the back door, looking for a snack. By the looks of her ,she had to have been somewhere with food because she was no worse for the wear…sneaky little creatures, cats ;)

OMG, how did I miss a cat thread? ebeeeee, I’m so happy she has been found!

yes, dmd, they are everywhere - a coyote attacked a small dog in broad daylight here in Seattle, in Magnolia!

Thanks all and thanks for my CC friends. DH was getting sick of my hourly calls about not finding her and I didn’t want DD to see a facebook post that would worry her. Then I thought of you guys and knew you would talk me down.
dmd77 yeah re coyotes. We don’t have them but do have an occasional bobcat…I always want her in and DH always feels she deserves to be out. She loves to hunt gophers in the backyard and usually sticks very close to home and food. It was the lightning/thunder that was worrying me as I know it can disorient animals sometimes.

Glad you found her. Funny that you don’t have coyotes. We have plenty. No cats at our house but 2 dogs. One of them is funny and has a mind of his own. I have not been able to get him to come inside the house in this storm.

mom60, I can’t believe he wont’ come in. This is the worst one I remember since El Nino.
I’m wondering how the fire areas down there are holding up…hopefully no major mud slides.

ebeeeee, is the weather still bad in your neck of the woods? Hubby is away at a meeting and said it was miserable this morning (Bay Area).

I’m doing a happy dance that you kitty is safely back at home! I see so many “lost cat” posters on my street :(

Monday after the first rains my H and D were up near Rattlesnake Canyon and they said things looked pretty good and said the creek had a ton of water. But that storm was not nearly as much rain as this one. I have barely left my house in 20 days. Still battling my swine flu and pneumonia.

So glad kitty is home! It is POURING right now…like you, ebeeeee, I don’t remember it raining this hard since I was in middle school and El Nino hit. So glad that I don’t have to drive back up to Sonoma 'til after the storm is supposed to pass. Actually, though, I doubt mom would let me!!

Mom60, sorry to hear that you are STILL not doing well…it has been a long time. Sending get better thoughts your way! Today’s morning storm was intense. Other than the one tree down on our road, we had minimal damage at my home and our rental. Thank goodness…Supposed to be bad again tomorrow.

Glad kitty is ok, ebeee is ok and hope you feel better soon, mom60.

Glad your cat was safe all along and not out wandering around. Here in northern San Diego County, if your cat or dog gets out you have about one day or so to find them. Much longer than that and the coyotes will find them first, and it’s good-bye kitty.
