Yesterday’s Washington Post ran this article about Laura Linney – very interesting to anyone who’s at all interested in acting, I think. I especially like what she says about the importance of “connection” between performers.
We enjoyed seeing her in 2002 with Liam Neeson in the Crucible. It’s so exciting to watch people you’re used to seeing on TV up close & personal, complete with spittle flying all over! (Liam not Laura, but on Laura!) There was one scene that she just had me bawling, she’s so intense.

I really, really wanted to see that show, but never had the chance. I do recall reading that the actors had to stop coming out the stage door at the end, because there were so many Crucible “groupies” who would come each day and night, all dressed up like characters from the play. They would apparently then mob the actors. Bizarre! Who woulda thunk there would be Crucible groupies?

Not an article on Laura Linney, but for those who might be interested, here is an interesting New York Magazine piece on Norbert Leo Butz:
