Great information. This is truly “bump-worthy”

It’s not that it’s “unknown”. It’s more of the fact that they don’t look at writing.

Caltech’s math scores are epic.

Gotta love Caltech’s math range. xD

beat me to it

didn’t care that nne718 beat me to it

The average are given in the common app. just go the admission section of any college

I’ll update the “UNKNOWN!!!” blocks tomorrow. More info is coming, folks. :D

I concur that CalTech does have a ridiculously high math range.

Where?? I cannot find the average in the common app. That would be amazing to find in an application. Do you mean the common data set? If so, I cannot find the average there either, just the 25-75% range. Let me know if I am missing the actual average.

Good work, JMEG91.

The ranges that I posted above are from the 25th-75th percentile, and, obviously, only covering the SAT I only.

@fallenchemist: why so desperate for the average? The average of the 25th and 75th should be close enough…

California Institute of Technology:
Math: 770 - 800

A score of 770 is only better than 25% of the people at CIT? O.o
Not to mention CIT’s math score range is ‘‘better’’ than that of MIT…

Is this real life?

It’s real life for the extraterrestrials invading our planet and taking over Caltech. o_O

Stanford’s scores seem to support the popular belief that they are “more holistic” than HYP.

Wow…I’m kind of surprised at Harvard’s stats. Yale completely beats Harvard…

I love that admissions story (not sure whether it’s true or not) about how Caltech’s incoming class a few years ago all had 800’s on the math section of the SAT.

Caltech is less holistic than MIT (just from what I’ve seen in admission threads and stuff). They seem to mainly focus on very high scores and placement in well known math/science competitions (USAMO, intel, etc).

^^ meh they’re only like 10 point differences. Plus, Harvard has a larger student body than Yale. It doesn’t really mean much when you compare the two.
