A&M 2024 Holistic Review

I’m noticing some holistic review admits on the main Admissions forum . . anyone else get accepted and if so, what is your accepted major and your stats? I really appreciate all the helpful info on this site .

I still haven’t heard anything. A ton of people at my school are holistic too and they didn’t hear anything either. So maybe there is still a chance at a larger wave of holistic review decisions this month or next month. Who knows at this point LOL.

Each year is different - but there seems to be a general pattern.

I looked back at last year and posted this on the 2024 thread.

You can go back through last year’s thread if you want to see how things went down. It’s a good guide but nothing is set in stone.

Here is my quick recap from 01/15 last year forward:
1/15 full admit decisions for engineering - both already admitted auto/academic and review candidates
1/23 full admit decisions for engineering - both already admitted auto/academic and review candidates
1/28 - Engineering academy offers
1/30 - Wave of review candidates to majors other than engineering
2/8 -Review candidates (would NOT call a wave) to majors other than engineering/College Station and academy engineering offers
2/14 Blinn TEAM
2/20 Blinn Team/Engineering Academies
2/26 - PSA
2/28 - Gateway
3/2 - PSA
and the PSAs continued through mid-March.

@traugott7 I haven’t gotten an answer yet either and I’m getting super anxious about it… and the PSAs going out yesterday really threw me off so I don’t even know what to expect.
@BlueBayouAZ So if there was only one real “wave” of nonengineering majors last year do you think yesterday/today could be the only real wave this year?

I

I would think that yesterday was not a wave of holistic non-engineering admits. It seems like just a few outliers.

Things are different every year. In 2018 you there were two of three waves of holistic admits. But with the increased number of applications - the number of full holistic admits was slashed in 2019 compared to 2018. Basically cut in half. So seeing only one “wave” makes sense.

I think we will see a more measurable group (“wave”) of holistic admits sometime at the end of January/first week of February. Around the time we hear that engineering at College Station is filled and only academy offers are going out.

@BlueBayouAZ Yeah it didn’t seem like as many posted as last year’s wave but wasn’t sure. Seeing the full admits come out made me really nervous because full admission is my only shot since I have so many credit hours already. Thank you for your opinion

Have any of you got waitlisted today? I did not and I am freaking out bc I think this may mean I could be denied but it could also mean there is more decisions coming…

@traugott7 I didn’t get waitlisted and am nervous too but I’m not sure if anyone knows at this point… they keep surprising us haha. It doesn’t seem like there was ever even a “wave” of full admits which is weird but there may have been so many auto-admits this year that there wasn’t many full admits left for review applicant. Who knows

@traugott7 Nope. Honestly, I would rather just have A&M reject me if they’re planning on doing so
Because I’m currently putting off paying housing deposits, etc for other schools because I have some hope that A&M will accept me lol

Right! @“on.kwon” I agree… I just hope there’s still SOMETHING out there.

I was wait listed this morning and am also now being considered for Blinn team. Called admissions but they said that neither of those were guarantee. Not all full admission offers have been sent out yet, but they’re pushing full capacity if they aren’t already there yet. Waitlist and Blinn team are considered rolling admissions now. Apparently it means that the university is still interested in having them as students but have to wait for some people to clear out first. Hope that helps.

People wait listed or being considered for blinn team might not hear back till the end of April now.

Have any Agribusiness majors been accepted?

Is there a reason as to why some have been waitlisted and others haven’t? And why are some being waitlisted earlier than others?

My son received Gateway! He is very excited!

Anyone else still in the waiting mode? My son still has “My App is complete and in Review”. His #1 major is Kinesiology #2 Liberal Arts: University Studies. The location is still CS in AIS and Howdy “Manage Applications”. Still has “Change major” button in both.

He called admissions yesterday afternoon as soon as he got home from school to inquire about a decision and the gentleman told him it could be mid March. He applied in July and TAMU is his first choice so we are hanging on and praying for good news soon but… the wait is excruciating.

I’m in the same boat- 1)Political Science and 2) Communications. I called yesterday too and all I got was “They’re still sending out decisions” @AMM1989 So, I guess we keep on waiting…

Hang in there. Really strange that some have decisions including PSA and others have zero movement. No news is good news at this point.

@AggieMomhelp thank you so much for the encouraging words! This forum has been a true blessing and you are so wonderful to offer your time and knowledge. Even my sophomore Aggie is telling her brother and me not to stress. Whatever is meant to be will happen and we firmly believe our DS will be an Aggie one way or another, God willing. I’ll post results. Thank you and Gig 'Em!

In a very similar situation. #1 choice was kinesiology and #2 was liberal arts but for psychology. I was wait listed a few weeks ago and was told I could hear back sometime between mid march and end of april. Hopefully we will all hear back soon! Feeling safe for now since no update in howdy has been made, but still so tired of waiting. I applied back in July as well with TAMU also being my first choice.
