^^ I take this to mean you don’t have a swimming pool, fencersmother :D

lovely lovely…standing and applauding… can I play?

is it bass like very low
is it bass, like fish you know
who cares? He spawned a funny run
of sealife joke and fishy pun

Oysters, clams, mussels, and shrimp
You won’t eat them? What a wimp!
Just put the shellfish on a plate
And don’t blame me for gaining weight.

periwinklekitten: If you get to 30 posts (which can come fairly easily on this thread) you get a promotion out of newbie!

Hello everyone! I was out working yesterday (somebody has to) and I find myself confused with lineage and bad phishing jokes. Looks like EVERYONE has lost the original intent of this thread, which was something about saving time and being beyond the time/space continuum.

I’m a Junior now, so I’m allowed to remind you to get back on topic.

I REALLY don’t get calamari. I find NO redeeming value.

Can someone explain why anyone eats that stuff? And c’mon! Clams are just chewy! Why eat something that’s just chewy?

hope you can all help with some good ol cc advice

my son did a science fair project on why people eat clams–taste or texture–naturally he won first place and went on to the intel, siemens international competition and WON! should he tell colleges about his accomplishment or should he just do it again as his PhD dissertation–would save him time clearly and isn’t that what this thread is really about? He says he couldn’t do it again at a doctoral level but (really) what does he know about the real world. need your advice urgently as my son is a freshman and the gc told me “its never too early to plan for college” so certainly never to early to plan for grad school"

hey guys, my son is a freshman—(not in middle school any longer)

responses?? this is pressing

still waiting…

I’m going to post this in the vigil thread–they even serve coffee and eggs there==otoh I could also post it in the ADD/Gifted thread, I’ll just do both…no patience to wait for you guys…

Why don’t you have him tell the colleges, and then encourage him to do research on patience for grad school. If he’s been swimming in the family gene pool he might need to work on that too.

Ok. Ok, I am snarky here because my s perfected cold fusion for his science project and only came in second to your s’s stinkin’ clammy thing.

LOL!!! I was just typing about the “patience” thesis topic when you bolted outta here. Don’t eat all the food in the vigil buffet. Are they serving bagels and lox?

Popeye’s now a crusty sailor
but as a teen flunked out of Baylor.
When asked about a second chance,
“Well blow me down, I’d wet me pants!”

GreyDad, GreyDad, why so sour?
Please don’t be so mean, so dour.
You’re not being any fun,
Ruining our phishing pun.

Patience, topics, gifteds, fairs,
Putting on those lofty airs,
Obvious what you truly need-ers,
Come down here with us bottom feeders!

(ViolaDad, that one is fantastic! Now, how does one get coffee and donut orts out of one’s keyboard?)

hey jym626–no lox and bagels, only unsweetened organic oatmeal and fresh organic fruit, wth? apparently making up for a weekend of gorging on seafood–mainly clams for the taste, not texture.

I feel your pain jym–maybe I can give you some advice–you see I researched what my s should research–Intel was looking for research with a people edge (taste vs texture what do we really like) you do realize that cold fusion is so 2006 – I saved my son by supplying the hook–the line, the clam shucker—but isn’t that what mothers are for.
btw–I didn’t exactly bolt I waited a couple of Minutes before seeking help elsewhere-oh and my d used the clams to cook up Florida Clam Chowder–she’s quite the entrepreneur–although she’s only 12 I encouraged her to send her business plan to Wharton–gotta run–vigil just put out french toast–someone didn’t read it was a “diet Monday”

Speaking of entepreneurs, my D made $22 in a half hour selling lemonade at a her little corner stand, without actually pouring any lemonade. She was in a bikini and the nice men from our neighborhood (see Megan’s Law) would just come by and give her $$$ for smiling at them! She’s a great candidate for Wharton, no?

Free food? I’m off to the Vigil, though I have never gone before. Combined with the free flowing alcohol at Sinners Alley, I’m sure I’ll cover the four food groups in no time. Barley is a grain, I’m told. What’s hops?

But … but … I’ve been confused about calamari for years and I REALLY thought that I could get an intelligent answer! Can’t anyone help me? As an official Junior Member, I deserve to be taken seriously and have my questions answered as soon as lindz126 was (don’t worry, I’ll be patient while I sit here putting off my work.)

Besides, I’m really trying to understand how Poseidan is connected to the Romanovs and what color the kids are.

I’m SO confused!

Speaking of phishing… I got a good one this morning. Apparently my Paypal account has expired and all I need to do is update all of my personal info and I’ll be re-instated again! I didn’t even know there was a limit on membership! There’s apparently a LOT of us since the message was sent to many undisclosed recipients. I guess they’re being considerate of our security by not revealing the names of all those others who are in the same predicament. I better take care of that right away.

I want to play, I want to rhyme
but keeping up with posts takes all my time.

From fish to phish and path to road
I’m struggling to not implode.

I cast a line, I set the bait,
I refresh often 'cause I can’t wait.

My lines ignored, the topic changed
my online friends must be deranged.

Calamari, hops, and toast,
Spamming emails, Wharton boast.

We’ve moved again, from fairs to chowder
And new posters are getting louder.

We analyze the where’s and whats
but now we post on soup from nuts.

The clams I know come from a horn.
Not taste nor texture, only scorn.

I’m running out of things to say.
That doesn’t stop me anyway.

But rest assured of this one thing:
It’s not over until I sing.

My VISA card sent me a similar message over the weekend. How very considerate of them. GreyDad, you are so lucky to have these nice folks at PayPal care so deeply about you. :)
