A Meta-thread to save us all time

I am sure DeVry has a campus near UT(as) where she can attain a respected degree in no time.

Also, if she decides to take a gap year, there are some outstanding slots available for “agricultural associates” in southern (and only southern) Outer Mongolia. This option would no only feed your cash-deprived family, but give your dd the envied position of “rural domicile” on her HYP apps.

If you mentioned she might lose her NHS membership as a result of the incident I would be concerned about the Adcoms identifying information. The rest…no.

Maybe she’ll get some community service hours as a result of the incident. I don’t recall many in your description.

Isn’t it Tasmania Institute of Technology and Science (look at THOSE initials…just picture that on the hoodie).

^^^^You are SO right, thumper. I just checked in one of our 25-lb college guides. If T I T S is too much of a reach, there is always the venerable Australian School of Science.

Violadad:

for the rest of your questions, may I respectfully suggest that you retain the services of Tasmaniawise? They have a package for different income levels. They’ll deliver your D, dog, sled, didgeridoo, and whatnot, express, though I’m not sure what service they use. Is the one whose slogan “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds,” appropriate for someone who is half Inuit? Just asking.

I think they merged. And that’s the sweatshirt everybody wants.

Is starting a business to market the sweatshirt a good EC? What if my S hires and trains a staff? Is “I Ran a Sweatshop” a good essay title?

And the Digeridoo Acadamy of Music…wonder if they need a harp playing, tuba playing, bassoon player?

You’re right…and there’s even a song…

I could be wrong, but perhaps “I Ran a T & A Sweatshop” would stand out more among all the other sweatshop essays.

T I T S and/or A S S: noted especially for wait-listing those over-qualified students (such as dogsledders and polynesians). Those stupid catalogs fill mailboxes across Tasmania so full that roofs are actually thatched with such, and with the w/l letters, of course.

Please, please stop. I’m laughing so hard my stomach hurts, and D just came in the room to check on me. :)

DS finished Harvard with a 3.94. Should he retake?

Yes. Absolutely. I’m surprised you asked. He’ll need at least a 3.98. Then he’ll be in the top mid 10% median and will be a sure thing. (unless you take the standard deviation once removed  )

But will they consider superscoring? Or will he look like a grade grubber with no life?

He should try retaking Yale instead. Some people inexplicably do better at Yale than at Harvard.

I dunno, marite, if he only does Harvard twice, he’ll be OK. 4 or 5 times, that would be different. IMHO, of course.

BUMP

Why aren’t you people answering my question???

You’re all ■■■■■■■■.

Friend’s D is doing a summer internship in Tasmania (NO KIDDING) Hope friend doesn’t read this post and get worried… D has not competed in dog sledding and I do not believe she knows how to play the digiridoo. It will probably be a very trying experience for her.

You’re all ■■■■■■■■.

YOU get a zero.
That is not a politically correct term and you must retake.
Try to do better next time.
There are some courses online that you can try.

remember- not everyone is NT.

( neurotypical)

;)

IMHO, YMMV. idk, JMO.
