Mind ye tongue garland. There be nuttin wrong in havin more than one parrot. If she be smart, she be gittin one of the opposin gender, and let the snipe gain some coin by havin a breedin pair.

Aye, ye make a good point there. Beggin’ yer pardon, i be waitin’ fer the sun to approach the yard arm so I can be startin’ on the rum. It makes me a we ornery, if ye get me meanin’.

I’ll accept yer 'pology. Not worth drawin cuirasses this early o’er squawkin fowl anyway.

I ‘spect ye meant cutlasses, me bucko. Cuirasses, now, are them shirts made out o’ tin that the lubbers used ta wear in hopes o’ not gettin’ run through by cutlasses or the like. Weren’t no use a’tall agin a blunderbuss, now, an’ ya wouldn’t want to be swept overboard while wearin’ one, now would ye? It even sounds like somethin’ them moderator fellers wouldn’t want us talkin’ about in front o’ the young’uns, if ye catch my drift.

Avast there BassDad, that’s a fine ketch ye be makin. Twas wunderin meself when any of these scumbuckets be figurin out me word play. Seems the landlubbin bunch of skurvy dogs missed dat one.

Ye earned an extra rum ration me hearty.

Now ifn I’d sed codpieces, they’d be a thinkin I’d be talkin about der e’venen ration. Ifn I sed port insted of left, they’d be thinkin a bottle of spirits.

Looks like all the bilge rats have abandoned ship anyway. Grab yer concertina and we’ll have us some sea shanties. Ye know all 157 verses o’ Barnacle Bill?

You been doin’ summa that book learnin’, ya scurvy dog?

arrives, realizes that the current level of word-play is beyond anyone whose sole “pirate” experience consists of Pirates of the Caribbean, and quietly slips off

Thanks, mods, for bringing the thread back! See you tomorrow, fellow scurvy dogs?

jym, ya foul mouthed skullerymaid, belay dat forked tongue o’ yarn. Don’t know ifn yer rudder needs mendin or yer floundered in the doldrums, but “rec’lection” and “taxed” be standard sayins in the King’s English on duh seas I be sailin on.

Now yer soundidn like them poleeeticians, VD! Yuk. Speak the kings English or be gone with ya.

ARRRRRRRRGGGHHHH!!! Dont ye be 'cusing me of soundin like dem ploleeticans, I’ll run ye through.

Firstun o’ ye dogs dat starts talkin poleetics on dis ship gonna rue duh day yer fadda met ye mutter.

Plenty o’ ale and bawdy houses iffn ya wanna discouse on poleetics, jest keep dem 'pinions offa dees planks.

I’ll have ye strapped to the six pounder and strike duh match meself.

Aye, indeed! they’ll be non’o’dat kind of AARRGGGGHHHHuing here.

… and don’t you be talkin’ ‘bout firin’ your cannon, pirate booty, buried treasure or your jolly roger or we’ll be thrown off the gangplank by the mods fer shur

oooh-- hi thar, Garland
oh fairest mod maiden of them all…

Jym, behave! You’re gonna lose us our thread.

Arrrgh. You be gettin’ it all wrong. By the blood of Sweet Mary and my own mother, I wuz just warnin whar not to go. Be gon with ya if ya donst git that ounce of prevention. Not wantin to hear about firin’ cannons through someones portholes and all that.

Eye binxie, that’ll be workin, only I did no figgur on parting with any loot for it. Dar must be a purloined credit card somewhere in da chest o’ plunder.

Be it a multi use patch, for either aye? Sometimes I’m fergettin which is the bad one.

Yes, either eye. And the earring will work on either ear. So if you need a quick disguise, you can switch! Clever, huh?

… and parent.

Arrrgh, it’s 12:22 am, and it took me so long to read this whole danged thread that I missed talk-like-a-Pirate-day.

i’d just like to add to this discussion that all kids drink, they’re going to do it no matter what, so we should just let them binge-drink in kindergarten and get it over with. Parents are way too uptight. Also we should understand that teens know way more about sex than we parents could possibly ever know. They practically invented sex. Parents are so uptight and old-fashioned, we couldn’t possibly understand.

PS If I write the word sex enough times maybe I’ll get some interesting ads on the left side of the page. Sex sex sex. XXX.

Dang. Still just a Sallie Mae ad. Can other people please join in writing about sex so that we can see the fun thong ads again? Please?
