Accept Brown offer or ED dream school?

Agreed… although I also think that we, collectively, need to take responsibility for the fact that when we allow the discourse to become contentious and/or judgmental, there will be OP’s who become uncomfortable and nope out of reporting back. :victory_hand: Not saying that has necessarily happened here, but it has definitely happened before.

Exactly. Several years ago my son accepted a supported slot at an Ivy League school in mid October. He applied in time for the November deadline, and received his likely letter maybe in the 3rd week of November. The process went very smoothly for him, but he did not tell his high school coach or his grandparents where he had applied until he got his likely letter in hand, much less post it on the internet. OP has already shared way more information on CC than most would be comfortable with. I am strongly urging her to refrain from posting until she lands somewhere with a likely letter from admissions or an actual admission, or wants advice for a plan B. The community should understand and respect that this is a quiet period.

I’m back… Princeton 2030!!! I can’t believe it.

So excited, and so grateful for all the help I received here on this site!!

To anyone reading this: it’s your sign to take a shot at that thing.

What happened exactly? I assume you got athletic support? Say more.

Well…since Princeton SCEA decision haven’t been sent out yet, does this mean you got coach guaranteed support?

Athletic recruits were able to sign offers starting November 12th.

There is no signing at Ivies since there is no scholarship, however, with support OP might have a LL in hand.

I was offered full admissions support by the coach as an athletic recruit! So I don’t have to worry about my slim chances of getting in only with my academics in December.

But it was a real bet on myself because the only thing I could do to improve my chances was perform well in the time after I said no to Brown and was hoping for Princeton.

Pressure was on and I whipped out the best 3 races of my life back to back, which helped make it happen!

Thank you guys so so much once again! Very helpful community on here.

I know most those who’ve responded have been adults, but just in general I wish every student on here (and the kids of parents on here) the best of luck in the next few weeks with big college decisions rolling out! It’s easy for me to say now, but you really do end up where you’re meant to be. I wouldn’t be here without rejection from 2 schools I was dragged along at back in September/October- very upsetting at the time but it falls into place.

@reclass - Congrats to you! mom of a Princeton Tiger who is middle distance XCTF and co-captain (class of 27)! She has met every recruit so probably knows you…she was in your shoes 3 years ago. Message me offline if you have questions. She loves the team…it’s the best in the Ivies and we’re hoping for another triple crown!

Bravo!
