There is nothing misleading about the admit rate since it is a direct ratio of admissions versus applications. It is also (somewhat) proportional to the numbers of spots available. A decade ago, CMC was admitting around 30 percent of its applicants, and the number has plummeted because of the growing number of applications in a pattern similar to schools such as Chicago or Stanford.

This said, one could raise the argument that the same 2,000 strong applicants that were in the pool a few years ago are still the same 2,000 that the school reviews with closer attention.

However, in the end, just as Stanford has become the school with the lowest admit rate in his group, Claremont McKenna appears to be the LAC with the lowest admit rate in April.
