She makes assumptions about people. Just because I have an opinion about high SES families, she assumes that I’m not of that income bracket. I know that my girls have been given everything, without lifting a finger. They were born into a privileged life. They will never struggle as many of those in their age group do. Their only saving grace? Is that we are full pay and colleges will look upon that favorably. Yes, they are smart and talented, but they haven’t had to be resilient or stand tall in the face of adversity. They will never have a cold home without heat, or a fridge with it’s only contents being the lightbulb. No gunshots outside their bedroom window or a parent on illicit drugs. I admire kids who have had to live in sh*t and still persevere! They SHOULD be given a chance, to further their promise. My kids have all the accoutrement of life. So does that mean they should have those coveted college admissions spots too? Says who? You @streetcred?
