Acceptances for Freshman 2006-2007!

We took the campus tour in late August and we saw a lot of students on their way to class and hanging out in the “quad” area ( not sure what they call it there). I definitely got the laid back feel. My D did say she saw some girls who looked kind of dressed up but I did not notice that - I saw a lot of shorts and college shirts.
When we went in Feb we were there on a weekend and the campus looked deserted - but we have found almost all campuses look like that on weekends early in the day LOL
We were not able to get into a dorm room on either visit. One of D’s friends did get to see some on a visit and reported back that they were not too bad. My understanding is that most students live in off campus housing anyway.
The campus is pretty much close together- not spread around the city. It did not seem like traffic would be a big issue when going from building to building. Some of the prettiest parts are in the center of campus - around the honors building, My daughter loved that Old Southern look with the Spanish Moss hanging from the trees. It definitely has a different feel from most campuses - I think it is a place you would need to visit before choosing. From what I have read the students that attend are very happy with it so I guess that is a good sign.
Do you have a visit planned?
