<p>Any non-jaw-dropping candidates who managed to snare an acceptance, please post your relatively non-stellar stats and give the 2170, 3.9ish, non-cancer-curing types some reason to throw their hat in the ring. And please, no URMs… Congratz and wonderful for you that you get to jump the cue, but not really relevant to this thread and would only confuse what might be possible for non-URMs.</p>

<p>Character is something that will get a candidate noticed and it is also something that comes through in essays and recs, just as I got a sense of your character from your post and agree completely with perazziman.</p>

<p>Homeschoolq, I am guessing from your screen name that you may be homeschooled. You should expect that test scores and other objective data about your educational accomplishments will be more important for you than for a student with a traditional transcript.</p>

<p>As a URM student at Princeton, I can honestly say that your original post is not only in bad taste, but an indicator of the kinds of things you may say in day-to-day conversation and therefore a reason that admissions might choose to not bring you to Princeton.</p>

<p>And as an answer to your question, yes - there are plenty of people who’s stats and scores are not stellar, but because (regardless of ethnicity) their personalities would contribute to the Princeton community. Thus, ^ isn’t working in your favor.</p>

<p>Even thinking some kids jump the queue shows limited (read: crippling) understanding of the admissions process. This is not all about stats, not about picking kids from 2400 on down. The kids fortunate to get admitted to top schools are, by and large, very worthy.</p>
