If we haven’t heard about ILR yet, should we be concerned?

I got the email and applied as a Biology Major in the College of Arts and Sciences.

So apparently a lot of potential science/engineering majors got the LL’s
Wonder if they will send out a batch for humanities majors tomorrow :P

I’m confused. Aren’t decisions released March 29th?

Guys, search old forums. These likely letters were only given to URMs and female engineering applicants. That’s it.

mytuesdaysmile - same here, but for my D, not me. Good luck~!

OMG. I am so happy. I received the invitation for the diversity hosting too and it says “you will be admitted to Cornell University’s Class of 2016.” I’m so excited and congrats to everyone who received the email. I had a feeling that something good was going to happen today. So glad I checked my email before going to bed!

I just received the same email about an hour ago. I was so happy

I was from the college of arts and sciences- URM

Accepted College of Arts and Sciences - Hispanic, NJ

The Diversity Hosting Invitation isnt a likely letter, it’s an invitation sent to SOME admitted URM applicants. I got my decision last week and recieved the invitation today. Cornell is trying to appeal to strong URM applicants to get them to enroll at Cornell.

If you are a URM and didnt recieve one, it DOES NOT mean you are rejected.

Congrats everyone

Hey people. Is the diversity weekend mandatory. I mean I love Cornell and I will be attending next year. Got my acceptance letter last week but I’m not going to be able to afford a flight from Los Angeles to Ithaca for only 2 days. What should I do?

eff yeah!! accepted! caught by spam, didnt realize until now, thank god thank god thank god

@casablanc, no the Diversity hosting weekend is not mandatory. Cost isn’t an issue because Cornell pays for the whole thing, including airline tickets for the student. You should definitely try to go!

I’m completely speechless. I received the invitation for the Diversity Hosting yesterday and it said “This special invitation is extended to you because of your strong academic and personal record and because you will be admitted to Cornell Universitys Class of 2016”.

So is this an “unofficial” acceptance as opposed to merely a likely letter? According to the Cornell website, ‘Diversity Hosting is an annual program for SELECTED ADMITTED STUDENTS. The program is by invitation only.’ So does this email mean we’re techically admitted? I checked my Cornell Portal and it says official admissions decisions will be posted on March 29th after 5pm.

BTW, I’m an African American female (URM) from New Jersey and I applied to the College of Arts & Sciences as an intended psychology major.

Congrats to everyone who also recieved this letter. We made it! :)

thank you lessthan3x4!!!
