Accepted, but Wanting Opinions

I have always felt safe on the NU campus as well as in Roxbury where I do community service. I also don’t walk around alone at night. My roommate has never felt unsafe walking from the library to IV late at night/early in the morning. I’ve always felt safe in Ruggles and there are always NUPD in there.

A lot of people do drink here, but there are sooooooo many other things to do. I love watching movies and going to movie theaters, and that is one of my favorite parts of living in Boston. Of course there’s the Regal theater by Fenway (about a mile from NU, you can either walk or take a bus) and the AMC theater right off the Chinatown stop on the orange line, but my favorite theater is the Somerville Theater in Davis Square. Cheapest theater in the Boston area and it shows movies that aren’t always shown elsewhere. The Kendall Square Cinema is also very nice (although it takes some maneuvering to get to-- it’s off the red line, but you have to cross a few busy streets to get to it). And I’m sure there are even more theaters that I have yet to discover!

What kind of shopping are you looking for? We’ve got the Pru and Newbury Street super close to NU and there are lots of cute, quirky shops in Harvard Square.

Club involvement is definitely encouraged here.

For a city campus, NU has a good deal of green. Have you visited? All my friends that have visited me here and ate the IV dining hall have been very, very impressed. Of course, eating the same food for months on end can get tedious for anyone, but I still like the food here. And knowing that I’d be living in IV is one of the reasons I chose NU over Tufts (obviously not the main reason, but I’m so glad I’m living here). Have you visited IV?

Let me know if you have any other questions! (I can speak to being a freshman in the honors program-- sorry I don’t know anything about Computer Science!)
