Case has a techy environment, too, but because it is in Cleveland, there are significant opportunities for service. Case has an entire department, called the Center for Civic Engagement and Learning (CCEL), that is dedicated to providing students with significant opportunities to help the community. There is also a Saturday of Service every year, where the majority of Case students sign up to volunteer at places like MedWish (a small non-profit that collects unused medical supplies from nearby hospitals and sorts them, then sends them to needy countries), hospice centers, and the Ronald McDonald House.

There are also many community-service oriented clubs at Case that provide transportation on a very regular basis to places where students can tutor ESL students, or work at the community soup kitchen.

This is a wonderful resource for information about community service:

Also, all the fraternities and sororities here are REQUIRED to complete 365 days of service, which some do in the form of anything from charity dodgeball tournaments to running dinner fundraisers for the fight against domestic violence.

Case also participates in Relay for Life each year!
