Thanks, mercymom. It’s nice to have others around who have been through this! My D does seem to enjoy the different culture in the south. She can’t quite handle the REALLY southern schools (the ones where the girls dress up to go to breakfast!), but she likes the friendliness she found at Hendrix & Rhodes. While it is much more “proper” than the midwest, the south has the same type of friendliness we have here. She was very turned off by east coast schools — she found that, although they don’t seem to intend to be, easterners are “cold.” She ended up choosing to apply to schools in the midwest (none in our own state, though) and the south.

Hendrix had the friendliest staff and students of all she visited!!
