***, why did UCSB offer me a acceptance to undeclared letters and sciences when I signed up for EE and alternate as CE. Well I got rejected from Berkeley, so now its between UCSB, UCD, UCI, SLO, and UCSD. - All of which I got into for EE.

Kobeballen, they probably didnât accept you into the engineering program (its very competitive I believe) so they put you into undeclared. but really it does not matter, once you declare your major while in school with the pre-reqs required, youâll be fine.

Accepted.
I put that I really wanted to go to UCLA on my essay lol. And I didnât take subject tests so Iâm not sure how I got in.

Terrible SAT score and subject test scores, and an ACT score about equivalent to that. (too embarassed to mention with the stats people have mentioned here! Letâs just say Iâm living proof it is definitely not all about scores haha)

a few ECs and what I would call âgoodâ personal statements lol,
but I also took all the prep courses I could for my major which I heard they look at, but during the course of waiting and anticapating a response, I decided I wanted to change my major to a B.S. in Environmental Studies which was my alternate and now that is my major. =]

Congrats to those who were accepted as wellllll!

You have to become a california resident to get instate.(so pay state taxes ect.)

@Jtn2014: I think it takes 2 years to become a resident of CaliforniaâŠso in your junior year. You should check to make sure though, I could be wrong.

It isnât possible for you to get in state tuition unless you have proof CA will be your permanent residence. ie. just school does not count as being a resident unless you graduated from a CA high school.

It takes one year of being registered as a California resident to get the reduced tuition. Iâm currently a NY resident and will be applying as out of state but Iâm moving permanently to CA the summer after my senior year. That means that after my living there for one year Iâll be eligible for in-state tuition and Iâll only have to pay the ridiculous 30k+ for my freshmen year.

i am super lucky to get acceptedâŠ
