As NEU parents for the last 3 years, we’ve flown into Boston Logan Airport and taken the T into downtown. We stayed at the Sheraton in the Prudential Center and used the T or cabs to get everywhere. Last trip (February 2009) we paid $60 per night plus city taxes. It is conveniently located to NEU.

As Ebeeee said, the Midtown Hotel is also convenient (a block or two closer to NEU), but when we were there it was winter and the Sheraton was connected indoors to the T station.

I agree with lje62 - parents don’t see much of their kids once move-in day is over - there are so many organized activities and new friends that there isn’t much time to get together. It’s the best time for new freshmen to meet each other and get comfortable with their new college life, so we didn’t want to distract our son away from all that. We just used the time to tour Boston and enjoy ourselves.
