<p>My understanding is that last year’s acceptance rate of 27% included those students who were eventually admitted from the waitlist and that the initially reported acceptance rate was below 25%. This year’s acceptance rate was probably higher initially to avoid having to take any or many from the waitlist, as well as to test Northwestern’s burgeoning popularity against elite cross admit schools like HYP & S. But, this is just a guess.</p>
