We have just returned from our visit to Case. We weren’t as lucky as the people who went the weekend before us weather wise. It was rainy and cold and of course driving home we had to drive through the snow storm. But, even with that, we were still impressed by Case. My son is going to be an economics major so the big selling point was learning that their latest Nobel prize winner was in economics.

I agree about it looking like a ghost town. I was shocked how few people are in the actual downtown area. There were times where there wasn’t a single person walking and this was on a Saturday.

As far as the surrounding area of the campus, I came away feeling that it is all relative. I work in Trenton, NJ. I see much worse every day. Of course, I would never suggest my son to walk around there alone or at night. I was comfortable with the presence of the campus police and from what my son was told, the students are very comfortable with the police force and they all said they feel very safe on campus.

He has committed to Case so I am sure we will get to know the city much better as time goes on.
