Advice and hope for Caltech waitlist?

I’m asking because I know many friends who got off school waitlists literally yesterday or 2 days ago, which is pretty late but since COVID-19 delayed everything I think its reasonable. Other schools, especially the UCs did their waitlist in waves. My friend told me while he got off a couple days ago he knew other people who got off several weeks ago. I know Caltech is a much smaller sample size but I wonder if its similar or not.

I have no inside info, but my guess is that Caltech will not go to the waitlist (unless a bunch of students defer). The class is larger than the typical class. I also don’t know the admit rate definitively, but someone told me unofficially it was at or below six percent.
