The only other teeny-weeny advantage of Sam’s Club that I can think of is that they have a ton of locations in China. I don’t think Costco exists in China. But it seems to exist in a bunch of other countries though.
The Costco self checkouts are good if you have about 3 things, but after that the checkers are much better. If the lines get long, sometimes a manager will scan everything in your cart and then you just give the receipt to the cashier who will take payment.
Sam’s has better salsa. At least around here.
The paleo pancake mix made with water were not very good, but if you use an egg and milk (or non dairy milk) they were delicious! $11 for the bag at Costco instead of $5 for a small bag elsewhere. Does anyone else enjoy the protein bars? I carry them around as a snack when I don’t have time to eat.
The check out process at Costco really couldn’t be more efficient - I feel like when it’s my turn I’m not at the register for more than a minute or two no matter if I have a lot of items.
Ours also tried self check out and ended up taking them away.
Unless you want your bacon in whole strips you do not need to repackage it. Freeze the whole package and run a serrated knfe under hot water, Cut off what you need with three swips of the knife.
Psst, Appleheads. Mac (no cheese though) is now being served at Costco.
I received an email this morning and was wondering if this was a new item. My MacBook 2012 is due to be replaced and I will get it at Costco in a heartbeat!!
@BunsenBurner Is this a new item?
Also, I just found out that the photo department will refill printer ink cartridges for about half the cost of a new one.
Yup that info is off the email. Costco used to sell Apple computers but stopped a decade or so ago. Mac is back, apparently.
(I really like this Costco thread. LOL)
The Asian Bagged Salad will not be on my repeat purchase list.
OMG I found the pickled cauliflower today and just finished eating some - it’s so good! Pretty vibrant flavoring - sort of a peppered pickling - my lips are puckered and happy!
The Sketchers leggings/tights on sale right now are really comfy and they have a vertical pocket on each leg. I think they’re $15.
I bought my year’s worth of contacts, cheaper than anywhere else & a $70 rebate.
Agree with @zeebamom about the sketchers leggings.
Does Costco have fitting rooms?
@AllThisIsNewToMe unfortunately no
Because they don’t have fitting rooms, have seen many people wearing snug clothing and trying clothing on over their clothes to get an idea of how the garments will fit. Sometimes, I just buy two garments in different sizes, try on at home and then return the one that didn’t fit as well. They have a great return policy.
The 15” MacBook pricing online looks to be wrong. It’s way overpriced compared to say B&H by a few hundred dollars. I think the pricing should be for i9 processors instead of i7.
I have only looked at the pricing for the 13" Macbook Air, and the price on the non sale items are less than Apple. For the 15" Macbook Pro, many of the ones listed include AppleCare, so that might be the price difference you are seeing.
B&H is always cheaper than Apple, but I would purchase from Costco for the additional warranty and great return policy; not that I would need to return a Macbook!
I hate how Costco is so generic with their listings on the laptops. Not enough info. They did this with the Dell XPS 13 also, you don’t know which model it is. No idea if the 15” MacBooks are 2.2 or 2.6Ghz models. Either way it’s not competitively priced. The 13” are what they are more competitive for.
