I’ve been putting off replacing my laptop, but saw one in the Costco holiday flyer with the specs I need on a Black Friday sale at a great price.
Went to look at it on line and it says if you purchase a TV, PC, or appliance with a Costco Citi Visa (which I already have), they double the 2 year (1+1) warranty for an additional 2 years for a total of 4 years!
Between the price and the extended warranty, they’ve made me an offer I can’t refuse. The one I have my eye on says “EarlyStart: Nov 28” and “while supplies last” so I’ll be ordering early TG day just to be safe.
We bought a Serrano ham – $99 with a stand and a knife when we were visiting our kids over Thanksgiving. I bought it because we were going to be taking the two couples (ShawSon and GF and ShawD and BF) out to dinner and I figured $99 plus some salad would be the same cost or less than going out. But, we had a great meal and only used one tenth of the ham. They will be eating it for weeks. Unbelievable buy.
Also got a McIlroy Pinot Noir for $19.99 – better than a lot of more expensive Pinot Noirs. This was in California where the wine salespeople are really knowledgeable.
We usually stop in for wild fish and did great last week.
^^^^ Yes, Kudos to the wine people in the Bay Area/CA stores. I’ve found some wonderful wines, which I’d never have pulled off the shelves, after having a conversation with their experts.
I have purchased the Chablis Premier Cru. Very good. Also, the Russian River Valley Chardonnay, which is not reviewed, has been very good in previous years. We buy the Prosecco for big gatherings for which a toast needed. The Malbec is a bargain.
Be careful with that bubbly! Costco people like to put your wine bottles upside down in your cart, with the cork coming through the wires. They did that with my bubbly and I had the hardest time wiggling it out. I had to take off the little metal cage, but I put it back on.
I’m driving home, stopped for a schoolbus and BAM! It sounded like a big rock had landed on the roof of the car but it was the bubbly. It had blown off it’s cork, cage or no cage. I found the cork a month or so later, lol. I drank the bubbly, but that bottle was a bit flat.
I never liked the wine rack in the cart system, meant either a hassle at checkout or the bottles were loose and I needed to find a way to put them in the car so they wouldn’t roll around.
The problem was solved, though, a few months ago when our Costco got new carts. The new ones are much easier to reach into to unload and the configuration means the wine bottles won’t sit upside down in the child seat basket. Awesome.
