Hi! I was just accepted into PR & Ad and I also know an alumni of that program. From what I know, it is a very respected program and many companies in cities nearby like to hire students from Chapman. Professors are experts in the entertainment industry and offer many internship opportunities. There’s also lots of opportunities like career fairs and career advising (there’s a specific office for this!). Chapman also has a National Student Advertising Competition team, which consistently places high and gets to create campaigns for real companies (e.g. Tinder a few years ago). According to Chapman, almost 100% of graduates find a job within 6 months of graduating from PR & Ad, so I’d say it’s good for career prospects.
For those who were admitted to Creative Producing (RD) curious what your stats were. D24 was waitlisted with a 4.2, 6 AP’s, 4 years in a CTE Digital Media film program, producer of hs news program, winner of a regional student Emmy and nominated for national, and so much more. On their admissions page it says to add more to your creative supplement and try to transfer second year. Not sure what else she would need. She knows someone who got in with a 3.4 and no experience. She got accepted to UCI, SDSU, CSUN, and more. Wanted Chapman since middle school. Not giving up.
Unfortunately I think the acceptances were rather random this year. I have a friend who got into Creative Producing with little real-world experience and she made her Creative Supplement extremely last minute. She’s also taking a couple APs right now but nothing too crazy. My friend applied EA, so that may be the reason why your daughter didn’t? Not sure, and I’m sorry I can’t help more
