In the immortal words of the grandfather in “Little Miss Sunshine”: [vulgar expression for making love ] a lotta women, kid.

:-) But seriously, keep things in perspective… maintain your happiness… realize there is so much more to education than numbers alone. I must say that my major appreciation for calculus is not for Taylor polynomials and certainly not for the demoralizing grades I get on tests, but for the mental exercise it gives me.

But make sure your first time is early enough so that if you completely blank out that day (like you’re running a high fever or whatnot) you can still retake.

Before you give out advice to other people, ask yourself “what is the audience” and “why should the same arguments to me apply to the audience I’m intending to apply the arguments towards, based on similarities between myself and the audience?”

But that’s generally fine, since the audience is intelligent enough to read which posts are geared towards one of their norms, and which posts are not geared towards one of their own norms. Well, for my post. But other posts may have more potential to lead people astray if such questions are not asked.

Find an activity you really, really love early on and pursue it. Don’t just limit yourself to what your school has to offer. Search out an internship, ect.

For me, specifically: Applying to boarding school! You’re going to move to another school in the middle of high school anyway. The only reason you don’t want to go is because you’re afraid! Stop being lazy! Self-study an AP. Realize that there is more than just the WGPA, there is also the UWGPA and B’s aren’t cutting it.

~ Don’t let college stress stop you from enjoying your high school experience.
~ If you feel you’d like a change of school after your sophomore year, go for it.
~ Be prepared for a break up if you’re dating a college-bound guy/girl.

ditch school assemblies because they are a fire hazard.

study study and then study some more

make friends earlier on in my career

talked to my teachers more often!

NEVER ditch people who you are completely annoyed by because you might end up needing them later ( and they can be realyl mean and abnoxious about it when you ask them for help) basically, don’t make any enemies becasue they will all have things to offer you later.

Don’t be afraid to apply to too many schools. From November to April of your senior year, you will be surprised on how your opinions of certain schools have changed. And don’t be afraid to apply to second and third tier schools even if you will be the valedictorian, president of NHS, blahblahblah, because so are all the other applicants to top tier schools.
