AF ROTC Scholarships

All AFROTC scholarships are a voucher type, it doesn’ matter which Type award you have…they will submit to the college you select.

I agree with cadetkelly after our DS received his scholarship, several universities personally contacted him and tried to recruit him…it was comical b/c their deadlines for admission had passed and they flat out stated we’ll get you in if you want to come. This was not from the det commande, but the dean of admissions.

Most scholarships are given to technical/engineering degrees. Don’t put down a tech/eng major for the purpose of getting the scholarship and then think you can switch it bhind their back. If you change majors from tech/eng to LA you will have to go through the entire process again.

Also remember that the AFROTC scholarship program has limited money, so when they run out of it, then it is all gone. Don’t immediately think that you weren’t good enough and doubt yourself, you are now coming up to their last boards and money is spreading a little thinner. We had a friend who as a sr in hs he didn’t receive one, he applied incredibly early his fresh yr (paperwork was done and submitted by Oct) and he got one for the next 3 yrs. Obviously at the early of a date they were going off of his recs from hs.

Sorry I can’t help on the questions, b/c DS never did the traditional interview…his ALO handled both AFA and ROTC, so my guess would be to expect the same questions your DS had from his BGO
