Cosmicfish, almost all insurance is priced based on actuarial assumptions relating to risk. Health insurance will be the one exception.

Other types of insurance penalize irresponsible behavior and deliberate misbehavior.

Which may be tempered by any number of biases. On the moment, you don’t really have a choice.

Oh, I hope it’s just your worthless gym and their cheapo instruments, and the visceral fat is just a mirage, busdriver.

Really, poetgrl? I’d never heard of that, as far as the fasting. I thought that fasting wasn’t advised anymore. Does that mean eating/ drinking absolutely nothing? I think I’d pass out from low blood sugar. Dang, that would be tough.

Most insurance is much less intrusive, and deals with much less complex issues.

May not have a choice.

That doesnt mean there is never a choice. If you are at the only auto repair place for 50 miles with an inoperable car you dont have a ton of choice. If you just bring it in for a funny noise and they give you a long of things that “maybe” should be done you can start questioning.

Auto insurance is pretty complicated.

Ok good, thanks for the confirmation, cf, I don’t like to think all the exercise is for nothing. Seems my liver blood tests would show something funny if I had a fatty liver. Really is a worthless gym, but perhaps a real body fat test is a good idea.

BTW I plan on making a rib roast now.

You should all expect some movement in your premiums.

Ah, rib roast!

Mmm, beef.

"BTW I plan on making a rib roast now.

You should all expect some movement in your premiums."

Lol

So explain why the ACA doesn’t penalize people who don’t follow doctors orders but it will penalize the hospitals who have to readmit these same people over and over when they don’t follow doctors orders.

…And an additional movement in about 4 hours

At least don’t overcook the rib roast. I heard that charring it could be unhealthy.

Obviously saving money overall is a wonderful thing.

But why as a sick person would anyone want to be taken to the cheapest hospital? That sounds awful. That sounds good for society, but maybe not so good for patient. The cheapest anything is rarely the best. I don’t buy the cheapest anything and I’m cheap.

Seriously bus. Look it up.

It’s pretty cool how many illnesses fasting will get rid of.

The body isn’t designed to eat every day. We haven’t evolved that way.

And no it’s drinking. Some people eat a really low cal day. It’s very good for you.

That’s awful, sax! Bad…

Wow, poetgrl, will look into it. Don’t think I could starve, but could do an all veggie day.

You’d be surprised. It’s not really starving

Most of us eat too much

H started this a couple of years ago. His dad had gotten type 2 and he didn’t want to watch what he ate every day. The PA suggested this. You fast a day or two a week and eat what you want the rest of the time.

His numbers are better than when he was thirty. I do it once a week now. The first month it’s challenging. After that its great.

More clarity, more energy. And I was never overweight.
