“And of course all of us perfect parents could never have produced a “bad actor” teen.”
I think we can all agree that perfect parenting doesn’t guarantee a healthy kid, but on the flip side, you can ruin a kid if you try hard enough. It looks to me like that’s what happened here.
Agree with Hanna. These parents take the expression “unpolished nuveau riche” to new heights.
Just saw on the news that the judge revoked probation amd has imposed a jail sentence of 180 days for each of the 4 people he killed. A little Justice, anyway. However, cynic that I am, I doubt jail will do anything to change his sense of entitlement.
I am incensed that he only 2 years!
The friend who was paralyzed in the crash is making a plea for the Couches to help with his care - apparently they haven’t even paid monetarily for the pain and suffering they caused.
That 2 year sentence is still pending - court meets again in 2 weeks and judge will hear from defense about reducing it.
This is a strange update- the judge makes a “tentative” ruling and then gives them 2 weeks to make counter arguments? Um- the kid and the mom should pay (literally and figuratively) for what they did. http://edition.cnn.com/2016/04/13/us/texas-affluenza-ethan-couch/
Another update: mom indicted on 2 felony counts. She is facing serious jail time http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Affluenza-Mom-Tonya-Couch-Indicted-on-Two-Felony-Charges-380998641.html
