This is a competative scholarship. You want to max out everything you can control. Fitness is something you have almost complete control over. Extracurriculars are something you have a large amount of control over. Work to raise those areas, in order to be the most competative candidate.
(Already assuming you are using your full effort on academics.)

Yes, they can fail you again for the DoDmerb exam. You would be required to get the waiver, but it will easier since you already have the waiver. However, if your condition changes, then all bets are off the table. There are guys that because they lose some of their hearing levels must get a waiver even on AD. Get to a certain point, and then they can become DQ, it doesn’t matter that they have a hearing waiver, once you hit the X mark, there are no more waivers.

The medical condition is an issue, that will be discussed if you are low on the PFA. You can pass the DoDMerb, but if your PFA is low, than you will get less points on your WCS. It is a competitive scholarship, points matter.

The bridge comment is the old cliche about buying or selling the Brooklyn Bridge. That was my point, if you don’t think the board is not going to see you have a medical condition and score low on the PFA, and that they will not be discussing this issue when scoring you, I have a bridge to sell you.

Your packet meets a BOARD, it is reviewed by Officers, and then scored. There are a lot of gray areas that MAY or MAY NOT be discussed by the board. Each member scores the packet if there is a large score fluctuation, than that packet is put aside and discussed. The gray areas are the recs and the EC’s. DoDMerb is not a part of the point issue. The PFA is. If you can max the PFA it may allow the ALO to support you more because they see you as competitive athletically. If you don’t max the PFA, the ALO can feel this is a part of your DoDMerb issue, thus, give a lower rec.

In the AF, there is a difference between being the Top Pick and being ONE of the Top Picks. The board knows that, and they can tell the difference. That is just the system. You want to be the TOP PICK.
