After KP?

KP is definately a good school if you have no idea what you want to do after graduation. The options are way too numerous to even contemplate before you get there. The best thing is you really don’t have to decide until senior year (other than between engineering and ‘business’). As for the doctor/lawyer thing. Law school is definately easier than med school out of KP. You can pretty much go straight to law school out of KP. Med school would be next to impossible to go straight to out of KP.

For almost all medical schools in the US you will need an additional year of undergrad after completed KP to have all of your prereq’s. Kings Point doesn’t offer biology/organic chem/biochem, etc which are needed for medical school. You can complete those classes at any school and can do it either at night school or between sailings if you’d like. Once you’ve done that the degree from KP is a HUGE plus in the med school application process.

If you do not have prior college it would be at least two years after graduation before starting medical school (plenty of time to make a nice savings nest egg if you sail).

I made the decision to pursue medical school after my first sailing period, i think that is when most people at KP figure out what it is they want to do.
