SAFETY TIP - if your GPS has an option to program in your Home address, so that you can just push a button to “Navigate to home” from wherever you are… don’t put in your real home address. Put in the address of a store or business near your home. That way if your GPS is stolen (or if your car is stolen with the GPS AND your garage door opener in it) it won’t lead the thieves straight to your house.

One more thing about suction cups - in certain states, it is illegal to have anything attached to the windshield glass, even GPSs. CA used to be one of these states.

Question about pros & cons of having a GPS to help us get around when we’re in Europe. We’re mainly just sticking to big cities and small towns, catching public transit and rails. It doesn’t appear my Magellan will have maps for Europe, so we’d have to buy a new GPS with maps of Europe. Any recommendations, experience?

We will be in London, Paris, Bacharach, Rothenberg, Munich and Vienna.

Thanks!

TomTom’s website shows maps from all over the world available for purchase. Haven’t used anything but the USA so I don’t know how good the others are.
